The Bengals really weren't that good this year. They had 3 really lucky wins early in the season. They regressed at the mid point of this season. They are basically an average team who ran into a down year for the rest of the AFC North.
They're pretenders and their place atop this division is short lived with Dalton as QB.

correct. Yet......

We'll have to hear in the off-season how he's going to be the leagues next "joe montana" and how the Bengals are not only going to obliterate the rest of our division, but the rest of the NFL as well. This s***'s getting old....how many years in a row have we heard that now??

also - is it just me, or does James Harrison look like he doesn't give a s***?? I've been keeping a close eye on him, and he looks like if he's there, great, if he's at home, great.

Harrison has a diminished role with the Bengals. He's not on the field all the time, and he's gotten older and slower.

He was good for one personal foul, face masking call by ripping off a players helmet for no apparent reason.

I think James officially knows he's not in Kansas anymore.

It is over for James - Steelers should have used the $$ they held in a good faith offer to bring Harrison back to make some effort to retain Keenan Lewis

The annoucers were quick to point out hes a former steeler. Might be reading to much into it, but seemed like it was implying Steelers play cheap.

I didn't take it that way, because it doesn't make any sense. Cheap teams don't have to cut or not resign players because they are millions of dollars over the salary cap.

He was a second round reach when he was drafted in the first place. Sure, he was "clutch" at TCU, but the kid has no discernible elite quality. I struggle to find a discernible great quality Andy has. He does everything okay, if not unspectacular. In all honesty, depending on who Cleveland drafts, he could very easily be the fourth best Quarterback in the AFC North after this upcoming season. If he didn't have AJ Green and the offensive weapons around him, you're looking at Brandon Weeden/Jason Campbell type numbers. To their credit, they've given Andy as much help as they could but you can only do so much with a mediocre guy under Center.

@Atlanta Dan was dead on saying that they'd never win a Super Bowl with him.

That was firmly established when the Bengals came to Pittsburgh weeks ago and got trounced. The Steelers are in transition and the Ravens gutted their whole team, all the Bengals had to do was walk without tripping and they were good for the AFC North title.

The Steelers had a better division record than the Bengals (4-2 versus 3-3) in 2013.
