U.S. Olympic Committee, Ralph Lauren Unveil Official Opening Ceremony Parade Uniform For 2014 U.S. Teams
BY U.S. OLYMPIC COMMITTEE | JAN. 23, 2014

New York, N.Y. – With just 15 days until the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the United States Olympic Committee and the Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE: RL) today unveiled the official Team USA Opening Ceremony Parade Uniform during a fashion segment on NBC’s Today Show.

“It is a privilege to be a part of dressing Team USA during the Sochi Games,” said David Lauren, Ralph Lauren’s Executive Vice President of Advertising, Marketing and Corporate Communications. “It’s a proud moment for us to watch these premier athletes as they walk out representing our nation on a global stage in front of billions of people worldwide.”

2014 U.S. Olympic Team nominees in curling, Jared Zezel and Jessica Schultz, revealed the men's and women's Opening Ceremony Parade Uniforms on Today. A dynamic mix of patriotic references in a classic color palette of red, white and navy defines the Ralph Lauren 2014 Team USA Opening Ceremony uniform, which is made in America. Drawing on the heritage and sophistication of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and a tradition of refined American style, the uniform features a meticulously knit patchwork cardigan highlighted with handcrafted details and emblazoned with stars and spirited graphics. The Opening Ceremony Cardigan will be paired with a cream cotton turtleneck sweater, slim-fitting white fleece athletic pants, sporty black leather boots with red laces and a cotton belt accented with jacquard tape featuring patriotic graphics.

“Ralph Lauren truly understands the honor bestowed upon Team USA athletes who will represent our nation at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games,” said Peter Zeytoonjian, USOC Managing Director of Marketing. “We are thrilled with the Ralph Lauren designs Team USA will wear at the Sochi 2014 Opening Ceremony, a look we feel reflects the pride and embodies the emotion of this special moment for Team USA and all Americans.”

An official outfitter of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams since 2008, Ralph Lauren has designed Team USA’s 2014 Official Opening and Closing Ceremony Parade Uniforms as well as a unique collection of village wear apparel and accessories, all of which embody the spirit of American athleticism and sportsmanship. The Ralph Lauren 2014 Team USA Collection for men, women and children is available for purchase online at RalphLauren.com, select Ralph Lauren retail stores, select U.S. department stores, and TeamUSAShop.org. In recognition of Visa's support of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the USOC is proud to accept only Visa at TeamUSAShop.org.

To further support and celebrate Team USA, 100 percent of the purchase price of the limited-edition Team USA Opening Ceremony Cardigan will be donated to the U.S. Olympic Committee, the organization responsible for funding Team USA.

I'm going to put the photo in spoiler tags in the event some peeps don't want to see them until the opening ceremony.
