I have this image of Colbert continuing to call Ike Taylor's number and Ike saying either "Ike's not here" or "wrong number" and then hanging up.

Im sure he was being a little biased but if Ike could catch he would have been a household name. Last year was the worst year that he has had, but to say that every team has an Ike Taylor is a stretch. I hope that they draft his replacement this year hopefully Gilbert or Dennard in the 1st or someone in the 2nd. They will draft 2 corners I hope that one is Jean Baptiste or McGill.
I'm sorry, but you greatly overrate Ike. He's simply not a legitimate #1 CB, and he never has been. He's an average NFL starting CB with poor hands. Just because he's wearing Black and Gold doesn't mean that we need to close our eyes.

I like Beachum's growth, and I certainly hope it continues. After all, "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." But before we annoint Beachum, lets take of the Black and Gold glasses for just a second - the Steelers played a very, very weak schedule next year. Beachum still has a lot to prove.

Ike Taylor agrees to new contract with Steelers

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 10, 2014

Ike Taylor will remain in Pittsburgh.

Taylor, the veteran cornerback who was considered a possible cap casualty, announced on Twitter that he will be staying with the Steelers. He is presumably agreeing to a pay cut to give the Steelers some cap relief.

In announcing the new deal, Taylor referred to himself as a “lifer” who plans to retire playing for the Rooney family and for longtime defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau.

Taylor, who will turn 34 in May, joined the Steelers as a fourth-round draft pick out of Louisiana-Lafayette in 2003. He started all 16 games for the Steelers in 2013.

Good for him that he has realized he's going nowhere after being cut.

Yeah he totally sucks, It's not like he never lined up against the opponents best WR his whole career while being left on an island and basically taking them out of the game.

Besides this year and that certain playoff game when has Ike Taylor not shown to be a lockdown corner. Yeah he's not Revis or Sherman good but that doesn't mean he's average. And who cares if he has poor hands most corners do, if they could catch they would be WRs

WTF

According to Pro Football Focus, Taylor allowed the second most catches in the NFL with 71. He gave up 30 in 2012 albeit in four fewer games.

Taylor, who spent the majority of his career following around the opposition’s top receiver, was also relegated to the one side of the defense over the final months of the season.
