I hope this means he is taking a considerable paycut, if so then Im ok with this. I say we still draft a CB early and possibly slide Ike to nickel or possibly safety???

Even though I was one of the guys that wanted him out, I gotta say I gained alot of respect for him for taking that cut. More pro athletes can learn alot from this. Even though he isnt what he once was, he can still be a valuable asset to the defense. Maybe this is the extra money needed to make a big splash in FA and get a guy like Byrd who everyone has been talking about.

The alternative may have been league minimum somewhere else - I do not think he took $2.5 million while having a realistic chance to get a non-incentive loaded payment like that somewhere else

But I do respect him for being smarter than James Harrison and knowing that if he walked there was nothing better out there

Yep.
As I was saying in another thread: it's unprecedented that three players gave back so much money.

I've got a special feeling about this team.
