I would love Jairus Byrd or Donte Whitner...

Pro Football Focus has some end-of-the-season thoughts on the Steelers:

*No defensive back in the league allowed more yards through the air than Ike Taylor, who surrendered 1,043. It’s no wonder the Steelers did not allow him to follow the other team’s No. 1 receiver in the final portion of the season. Taylor finished the season as one of the bottom 12 cornerbacks in the league according to PFF.

He needs to take a paycut are get cut. Cortez is ready to be the #1 CB imo

I agree with the paycut, but only cut him if we have a for sure #1/#2 to play opposite of C Allen (I am not 100% convinced Cortez is a #1 yet). Unfortunately after letting Keenan get away, we have nobody to replace Ike and I doubt a rookie can come in and do it. So if we let him go, we need to get a FA to replace him. On the other hand, our pass def was much better after we kept Ike and C Allen on their sides and provided safety help over the top. If this can work for one more year, we can draft Ike's replacement and let him go next season. My best case scenario is paycut, draft a CB in the 1st/2nd and play like we did at the end of the season.

We all wish "his hands sucked balls."
For Ike.....his hands repel balls. The guy can't catch....period.

With that said, I'd like him up as CB #2, switch Allen to CB #1 and draft the best secondary player on the board with our #1 pick.
Safety, CB...we need depth and talent at both immediately.

It was painful to watch Keenan Lewis play today. Our Cb's would be set for years. I think he wanted to go to NOLA no matter what, but to not even make the guy an offer is a questionable decision.
