Ike should be a nickle back at this point in his career. He is the poster child of a position that hasn't been prperly addressed in the draft in years. I think he's toast. No way we spend that much money on a liability. And I'm pretty sure someone will be willing to pay him more than we would if he just sits back and waits for some contending team's corner to break an ankle in the preseason.

34 yr CB making $8mil makes little sense. Makes zero sense when its IKE who showed he bumping up against the end of the road. Cut him and be done.

Not much new, but Ike wants to retire as a Steeler, and seems willing to take a pay cut

Yeah Ike isn't going anywhere. He seems more a part of the "Steeler Family" than any other player I can think of in years, he doesn't just love his teammates and coaches but the Rooneys and the city too. He's made financial sacrifices to remain a Steeler in the past and I don't see that changing now; as weird as it is to say I could honestly picture Ben or Troy in another team's jersey before Ike.

It's nice to know that there are players and teams so loyal to each other. It is a business and anything can happen, but it makes you proud to be a fan of an organization that treats its players like men.

Ike is the worst so called number one corner in the league for the past 4-5 years. Let's get rid of him!! Imagine how many more interceptions he will drop as safety??

Dan Rooney loves Ike, and Ike loves Dan Rooney.

Dan considers Ike to be one of his grandchildren. Dan told Ike that Ike would ALWAYS have place in the Steelers organization: player, coach, or some sort of other facet (PR).

There was a story, where Ike was sluggish & tired at practice. Dan asked him about it, and Ike had been up because he had a newborn. Dan empathized, and offered for Ike to go up to his office, and take a nap on his couch. (Dan took his papers, and worked in the cafeteria.) Ike said that he'd never forget that.

Some players are more than merely players. Ike is family.

(Ike will take a pay cut... and move to the #2 CB spot.)

no one ever said if ike is retained with a lower salary, that he has to be the #1 corner. with cortez looking better through the season, he is probably ready for that #1 spot! to have ike and gay and a newly drafted rookie fight out for the #2 and nickle spot, sounds good to me! IKE IS NOT A SAFETY!
