Halo 2 Anniversary Rumored
Some rumors have been leaked over the past few days from Microsoft. Pictures of a Titanfall Special Edition Xbox ONE Console, rumors of a 1TB Xbox One Console, and most importantly (to me) Halo 2 Anniversary may allegedly be coming out November 2014. As any good Halo fan knows, Halo 2 was released on November 9th, 2004 and was a sequel to one of the biggest Xbox games in the history of the console. November 9th of this year would obviously mark the Ten Year Anniversary of the release of Halo 2 so it would be the perfect time to release the game.
Honestly I'm more giddy about this than the release of these next gen consoles. Halo 2 was one of my favorite Halo games. The multiplayer was the absolute best in the series in my opinion. I loved the maps, the gunplay (battle rifle FTW), and the way that it was balanced. The single player campaign was also a lot of fun though a bit short, and the ending in particular left a lot to be desired as it was very abrupt.
I'm just hoping and praying that they don't screw up the multiplayer. I loved the way the game played on the original xbox. I have so many good memories of system link parties with friends duking it out into the early hours of the morning when I was still in High School. Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary was a great game but the multiplayer portion of it just ran on the Reach engine and so it was nothing special in that regard. I'm hoping that because this is allegedly going to be released on the Xbox ONE that they will be forced to include a standalone version of the multiplayer.
I will say that if this game does get released, it's going to be awesome. I will spend hours of my time in the multiplayer portion of the game. I just hope this rumor isn't just a rumor.
