Default Ben is he or will he pass Bradshaw has best Steelers QB

I know to different eras, hard to compare but hey it's the offseason. I know terry has 4 rings in 4 appearances and Ben 2 in 3 appearances. Ben will own all the franchise passing records like I said this is more of a passing league then the 70's but then again Bradshaw had the best defense in that decade. IMO Ben is a winner I think right now to close to call but one more ring by Ben giving him 3 would easily solidify him even though he would be 1 short. But I also think if Ben plays another 5yrs of good ball without a ring could rank #1 in a lot of fans eyes.

I wasn't around to watch Bradshaw play, so I really can't comment on him other than the fact that he had a great deep ball, and we did win 4 SB's with him at QB. But Ben is as good a QB as you can ask. The things he does for the team can not be measured by stats.

I saw both and each was Great and in Ben's case still has time to add to his legacy. Ben's numbers dwarf Bradshaw in completion and TD/Int ratio. But you said it different era, different rules, and different type of teams. The Steelers of the 70's were a power team and had teams that average over 5 yds per carry. While the Steelers of recent years are statistically superior in most categories don't be fooled, those 70's teams were the best I ever saw, including the 85 Bears and the Ravens of young Ray Lewis years. Thing is I believe if both QBs could of somehow swapped time and Ben had come first and Terry later we would still have 6 Lombardis and we would still be comparing them.

I'd have to go with TB because he was one tough hombre. I saw him get knocked the fuck out many times in the 70s and came back. Can't do a true comparison but they let the QBs get hit back then and that is huge when looking at today's vs yesterday's game.

It's hard to compare guys who played in different generations, but if we're going by skill it has to be Roethlisberger.

Love both QBs but if i had to pick it would be Roethlisberger. Hasnt always had a dominant defense as they did in the 70s (even though its close). and definatly didnt have the running game they did back then. Also IMO i think there are more quality teams that can contend for the super bowl now as opposed to the 70s. In the end love both QBs and there perfect Steeler QBs.

You bring up a great point, before expansion there was fewer teams. I would have to do research to see just how few. But even with fewer teams the AFC was dominated by the Steelers and the Raiders during that era, at least after the Dolphins lost a step. But to be honest the AFC has been dominated during the last 10-11 years by 3 teams with QBs that are named Peyton, Brady, and Ben. Until last year when Flacco broke the streak the AFC was represented by those three QBs for quite a few years. More teams now but since it has been a while since last expansion I would argue that the league is no more watered down than in the 70's or 80's. Football has never been more popular.

If Ben was able to pull off that drive against GB, I'd say Ben, but currently Bradshaw.

I think if Ben gets one more ring I'd put him above Bradshaw. 4 rings against 2 is too hard to ignore but if Ben could get to three, I'd say playing in a more specialized era against tougher and more physically freakish defenses would give him an edge over that extra ring.
