I find myself saying that to other Steeler fans quite often. I don't feel like such a lone wolf anymore. Leave the crying and the conspiracy theories in the Pacific Northwest.

the only reason I like to bring up spygate is to bother pats fans. I don't really care about the championship games, we've won two SB's since then so big deal. I just like to bring it up because it really bothers them, they know it tarnishes their team's legacy.

Cowher is a media figure now. He's smart enough to play ball and not go alienating people. That is the PC answer he gave. Personally, I think the Patriots are STILL cheating. No way "good coaching" turns them around on games where they're getting their asses kicked like they've done at least 3 times this year.

Bottom line, they broke the rules and the evidence was destroyed. The fact that the evidence was thrown away should raise the brows of any real football fan.

Another thing, that tuck rule game is what started it all for them. Folks don't have disdain for the Pats just because. Most can see the blatant one sided calls that got (and still do most of the time) in those years they won the SB.

Keepin it real folks.

It is the same reason you are not going to see lengthy discussions on the pre-game shows about what the NFL knew about head trauma and whether the settlement of the concussion lawsuit is basically one more cost of the coverup - the networks have a product to sell and are not going to tarnish that product by fixating on shameful aspects of the game

I listen to a lot of NFL Radio. It's just about the best coverage when it comes to in depth analysis of schemes that you don't get on TV. But, whenever a topic comes up that might bring into question the integrity of the NFL even the most respected guys on the channel take the party line.

No, actually that started a couple of decades after the fact (try 2005) thanks to Jim Haslett, even though he didn't start playing in the NFL until 1979...for the Bills.

And can anyone look at pictures of guys like Lambert and Ham back in the day and tell me with a straight face that they were juicing?

Apples and oranges.

Did the Taperiots cheat? Absolutely.
Did they win the 2004 AFCCG because of it? Absolutely not.

BB's three INTs had far more to do with the outcome of that game than any stolen plays.

I hate the Taperiots, because they are arrogant assholes... who try to act humble. Deion Branch (& others) turned and taunted the fans... but, the networks barely showed this, because the Taperiots are supposed to be "classy."

I rooted for them in 2001, but hated them after they way that the acted "in victory" in 2004.

and the always unanswered question is...

why take the risk if there's no reward to be had.

would a thief break into a house that he KNOWS contains nothing of value ?
