Funny. They didn't when Roethlisberger was going to the playoffs. In fact, I remember the way people had conniptions the moment anybody suggested that Roethlisberger was an excellent QB because he won a lot of games. It's ironic how winning only matters now that he's not winning as much.

Terry Bradshaw (HOF)
Joe Montana (HOF)
Roger Staubach (HOF)
Jim Kelly (HOF)
Troy Aikman (HOF)
Bob Griese (HOF)
Fran Tarkenton (HOF)
Peyton Manning (1st ballot HOF to be)
Kurt Warner (more than likely HOF)
Ben Roethlisberger

You can also add onto that list these guys, who started 3+ League Championships:
Bart Starr (HOF)
Len Dawson (HOF)
Johnny Unitas (HOF)
Otto Graham (HOF)
Bobby Layne (HOF)
Norm Van Brocklin (HOF)
Sammy Baugh (HOF)
Sid Luckman (HOF)
YA Tittle (HOF)

I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing somebody, but I think you get the point.

Don't ever type that sentence in reference to Ben Roethlisberger again
Now you don't have be like that. You know I'm talking Pro Bowl appearances and how voters for Hall of Fames are influenced by that sort of stuff. And it's silly but accurate that Ben has as many as Vince Young and less than Tony Romo. I'm discounting Super Bowls

But as Ben often says after losses: it is what it is. He's a two-time pro-bowler....just like Vince Young.
Interestingly enough, in the Jerome Bettis HOF thread, not once was there mention of Bettis' Pro Bowls. Most of the discussion was on his actual play (& some stats).

I'm assuming that when BB is eligible, his Pro Bowls (or lack thereof) will have little-to-no importance towards his enshrinement in Canton.

The only reason the colts have a qb in the pro bowl--it's just due to luck.

Tony Romo ought to be grateful that the NFC didn't have Peyton Manning and Tom Brady automatically taking two Pro Bowl roster spots every season.

The hof is for the best players of all time. Ben has never been close to a top qb he doesn't deserve the hof because of two Super Bowl rings, when he was horrible in one of the games. He's never carried the team and his teams never score near the top of the league add that with how he's not liked and its going to be harder than many think. If it goes by rings only then max Starks Larry foote and other should be in. The way Eli keeps missing the playoffs he could find himself not in also

You're absolutely right. Ben Roethlisberger is the Max Starks of Quarterbacks.

I don't even?

The 2005 playoffs disagree with you.

Also, when he was hobbled in 2011... the season needed. When he was injured in 2012, the season ended. Thus, I'd say he's pretty darn important to the team.
