Default Goodell liked this year's Pro Bowl

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has in the past been so disgusted by the level of play in the Pro Bowl that he seriously considered cancelling this year's contest but ended up pleased by the results of this Sunday's contest according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

“You have to admit it was very competitive,” Goodell told ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning. “Exciting. Fun. I think the players played much harder.” Goodell liked the changes made to this year's format, which included nixing the traditional AFC vs. NFC contest in favor of a player draft captained by Hall-of-Famers Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice.

I didn't even realize it was on until it was about over.

It was actually fun to watch this year. I love that AB beats Haden even in the Pro Bowl.

i watched it.

JJ Watt and Ndomikung Suh were terrorizing the O-Line and Drew Brees. plenty of turnovers. Jamal charles was almost concussed again by his own KC teammate on the opposite team.

the win came down to a last minute 2-point conversion instead of a tie.

AB's catch was the toughest catch of the day (and nick folks pass was probably the toughest throw as hayden was draped all over him.

it was great to see a steelers helmet on sunday once again (yes im going through severe steeler withdrawl) even if it was limited action.

I just put these bubble gum machine helmets on the mice who live in my closet and toss food to them. If you squint it looks like the real thing

Did anyone ask Goodell why the Pro Bowl does not honor the traditions of the game by being played in New York?

I watched a little of it and it was entertaining. I probably haven't watching one in 10+ years. My only gripe was Sanders and Rice as team "captains". There should be more of an "honor" in how the captains are picked. Maybe defensive or offensive MVPs or the top Hall of Fame inductees from last year. Sanders is so self centered I'm sure he came up with the idea and made sure he was all over the screen.

I was going to watch, but something else just as interesting caught my attention: watching paint dry.

Deion does have his followers - someone thought he is popular enough to be hired to be all over the screen in this batshit crazy Pepsi ad that also stars Ditka and Bradshaw

everything you said about Sanders is true. But in a week clouded by Richard Sherman talking smack about a wide receiver, the league leaned heavily on Deion Sanders talking smack to Jerry Rice in order to sell the Pro Bowl.
