The compensation we received from him was his play for an entire year, so I don't know how you can say we got nothing. I'll take a year from him and a fifth round comp pick over just getting just a third any day of the week.

I agree. A lot of fans including myself wanted the third round pick, I'm sure a lot of the coaches wanted it as well. But you don't always do what you want. Even if we lose Sanders to FA I still think they made the right decision, although it would have been more interesting to get that extra 3rd rounder.

We should have let Colonel Sanders go the Pats and saved some money last season. He's getting on 27, if he hasn't got much better. Does his 67 catches for 740 yards with a 11ypg warrant anymore time or money? I say no. He will demand coinage next year trying justify his worth as he can spread the field at times and had 6tds. I would like to see Cotchery come back for a couple of more seasons, Boldin would be a good too.

His 740 yards put him in the top 40 receivers last year.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss his value.

I like Sanders but more as a #3 receiver than a #2. I'd like to see Wheaton man the #2 spot with Cotch and Sanders splitting up the #3. Cotch is a smart receiver that can run any route and he's got a knack for getting open in the red zone. Sanders would be nice in spurts keeping his legs fresh and making defenses have to respect his speed at the #3 WR spot.

That's what I'd like to see personally, though I know it's likely he's going bye bye.

I agree, the more teams you watch, the more you can appreciate Sanders.

Keep Cotchery for another 2 years... let Sanders go. WR is the least of our problems.

maybe not, I'd say a lot depends on Wheaton. Is he ready to step up and be a starter after one season of little field time? I don't think Cotchery is a #2 WR, but I've been wrong before. And I don't see them drafting a WR that will be able to come in and start right away.
