Yep... I just looked it up, and it is dead wrong.

I heard the guy talking on ESPN radio, and he basically called the game as a Seattle blowout. He said that he reasoning was that, like I posted earlier (erroneously) that the defense ranked first in scoring had gone to the SuperBowl sixteen straight seasons.

This goes to show me that I need to check these facts, and not just listen to a talking head.

BUT, in my defense, when the game turned out almost exactly as he said (he said 42-7), I posted his "fact" immediately.

My bad.

While looking up the top-ranked scoring defense, I found something interesting. Here are the Steelers' rankings for the past few years:

2013: 14
2012: 6
2011: 1
2010: 1
2009: 12 (that season sucked in total)
2008: 1
2007: 1

I bet that no one would have guessed the 2012 number. Come one, be honest.

Uh i knew it stated several times how Ben couldn't get a team with the #6 scoring d in the playoffs. He can't get them in unless they're top5 and that's not elite

You can get someone pretty similar to him, but at the FS position in Ed Reynolds. He could probably play either safety position very well, and has similar size for his position. I love guys that could cover, hit like a truck, and catch the ball when it comes to them.

What's not to like about what Chancellor is doing?

Seattle just showed why you could still have big, physical players in the secondary. If they're athletic enough, they could intimidate and dominate, even with the current rules.

...we've bin hearing it all week, but,

#1 Offense vs #1 Defense = Defense wins every time -'cause it can make stops, and points.

Granted, the NFL seems to have evolved into placing rules, in an effort to make Footbal a more high-scoring Offensive entertainment machine.
But the oppsite happened in XLVIII ?. [head-scratchin'].
-unless that was just Seattles one-hit-wonder? -naaa.

Even being that Ben is better than Manning, or Brady. it WON'T matter, against a "real" #1 "D".
Every SB the Steelers ever won, was with a #1 "D". -Lets get that back, give LeBeau whatever players he needs....
:)
