I hope the Steelers host a Super Bowl so the Parkway West will have to be widened.

Pitt can't handle it. Not enough hotels restaurants etc. you get atleast 120,000 peoe coming into your town for the Super Bowl and Pitt can't handle that and the nfl wont give them the Super Bowl. Especially after having it in jax and it being a disaster since they couldn't handle it. Cold weather cities that will get it chi and New England Pitt won't get it so don't get your hopes up

As the article states - something like this is a ton of dough, improvements, and a long ways away from happening

Getting in and out of the North Shore is way more complicated than it should be right now, as small of an area as it is - imagine jamming a city of a million into one not properly ready for a half a million

The construction and one way streets that seem to have been around for 20 years plus now are mind boggling. As much as I love my Burgh, there are cities with 3 to 5 times the population and traffic that are easier to get around.

Hate to say it, but you'll see Tennessee and Baltimore host a Super Bowl before Pittsburgh. I hope the Rooneys and the city can get together on this and make serious improvements, not the lackluster bandaids that the city is known for.

If you think the Casino was a big improvement, you're missing much bigger pictures

I'd love it just because I'm proud of my city and the black and gold but the corporate types and jet set that attend Super Bowls would be let down over the current situation there. As Rooney stated, adding 3000 is not nearly enough. They should aim somewhere for 75 to 80k seats (and by the way make the extra seats more affordable for reg season and playoffs - got to change something there to keep people motivated) The Chief purposefully didnt want larger stadiums for fear of them being empty so I'm a little confused how the small market overall is going to handle the extra 10-15 k in the stadium) They need 2 to 3 HUGE resorts on the northern shore alone. Having ships as resorts is really not worthy of such an event. We're not talking the Big Apple Skyline, we're talking the dirty 3 rivers staring at rust and cement.

Don't want to get too negative but this is a 15 year project. At best, they should hope to land SB 60.

Does anyone know who is getting 50?

as New Jersey as shown, Superbowls are not the same "crowd-packing" events outside like they used to be. + the fact that, SB-tickets are exorbitantly expen$ive.
I wish Pittsburgh good luck in hosting a Superbowl event.

NFL states the minimum capacity to host a SB is 70K. Heinz is getting ready to add seating, but that expansion will only put it around 67 or 68k.
I think the NFL owes it to the 2 participating teams fans to get as many of them in to see the game as possible. It's already hard to win the season ticket holder lottery as chances for SB 45 were 15% and that was in Dallas with 100k seats. If the Steelers do expand to 70k, that would be 30k less seats and those would likely come from the fans tickets as the NFL will need to keep their sponsors and VIP's whole.
I'd rather have the game in a large, warm, stadium to be honest.
I'd also have zero interest in watching 2 teams other than the Steelers play in Heinz.

Maybe one of those two teams would be the Steelers.

Being a NY native and a Steelers fan, i've been to both stadiums.
I went to last years Steelers-Giants game.
Metlife stadium is an absolute sh*thole.
I was so unimpressed with the interior of the stadium, i can't begin to comment on the outside/parking.
