We weren't that far away from playing you guys in the super bowl in the 1995 season. I hate the Cowboys to this day. You guys had a great team in 1995 with Neil odonnell. I think you would have beat us that year in the big game. You guys think those steeler teams of 94 and 95 were good? I know the steelers will be back next year with a vengeance. Packer nation has tons of respect for you guys. Your not scums like the cowboys, eagles and the bears.

The Packers would have won Super Bowl XXX easily. Brett Favre was in his prime.

Bill Cowher lost nine playoff games in his coaching career, and he had the inferior QB in eight of those nine losses. That's no coincidence. Here's the rundown...

1992 AFC Divisional Playoff: Jim Kelly vs Neil O'Donnell
1993 AFC Wild Card Playoff: Joe Montana vs Neil O'Donnell
1994 AFC Championship Game: Stan Humphries vs Neil O'Donnell
Super Bowl XXX: Troy Aikman vs Neil O'Donnell
1996 AFC Divisional Playoff: Drew Bledsoe vs Mike Tomczak
1997 AFC Championship Game: John Elway vs Kordell Stewart
2001 AFC Championship Game: Tom Brady and Drew Bledsoe vs Kordell Stewart
2002 AFC Divisional Playoff: Steve McNair vs Tommy Maddox
2004 AFC Championship Game: Tom Brady vs Ben Roethlisberger (rookie)

In most post-seasons, Cowher was bringing a knife to a gunfight at QB. The only exception was the 1994 AFC Championshhip Game, which the Steelers had absolutely no excuse for losing. That game was the biggest choke job I've ever seen.

If the Packers went to Super Bowl XXX, it would have been Brett Favre versus Neil O'Donnell. I like the Packers' chances in that matchup.

O'Donnell still would have thrown the game away.

Plenty of words could be written explaining varying scenarios, but in simplest terms:

1994 PIT >>> GB
1995 PIT > GB
1996 PIT <<< GB
1997 PIT < GB

We had the 'Boys on the ropes in XXX until O'Donnell threw those brutalizing interceptions, just as we had the Pack on the ropes until Mendy's fumble in XLV. We were supposed to get romped against Dallas but we played good enough to win but that is all but overshadowed by O'Donnell's INT MVP performance. We had a stifling defense in '94, but I don't think we would have had the gun-power to beat that '9ers team. No way.

Even in 1997 if we would have pulled off the win against Elway's Broncos at TRS (I was there) I think we would have beaten Favre and the 'Pack that year in the Super Bowl. So many missed opportunities and choke-jobs in the Cowher era that it's hard to swallow. Good thing Cowher got his in '05 or he would have possibly went down as one of the most highlighted choke-artist's in coaching history, Andy Reid be damned!
