They had a team, too. I know if 99% of this board would kill it in any combination on a trivia show. Good stuff.
Team... reminds me of the night that a friend of mine played Trivial Pursuit against our wives. I covered all the sports, movies, & geography, and he's a whiz at literature, science, & history.

Our wives went first, and got a piece. Then it was my buddy 's & my turn: we answered question after question, until we got all six pieces & won the game. (Yes, our wives got only that one turn.)

Moral of the story: let your wife WIN.

F*ck it. You're not my dad...we're just the same person in parallel universe's, lol. One of my fiance's pet peeves is how I destroy her in board games. It's getting to the point where she literally gets mad. Something as simple as Checkers use to be her thing. Now, I show no mercy with Checkers as well.

Here's the kicker: You can NEVER win with your signoificant other. Hell, even when I let her win, she gets mad BECAUSE I let her win. We're going to get in trouble anyway, so I say: JUST WIN BABY! !

The only question is: are you my mirrored reflection?... or, am I yours?

The art of "letting someone win" without them knowing it is even better than flat-out winning.

both of you too, huh?

I'm more into the dorky games such as Risk, Settlers of Catan (you may or may not know that one) and retro games - Mystery Mansion circa 84' being my all time favorite board game

Anyways, we have the 85' Wheel of Fortune and that has been the battleground for some epic confrontations. I have been physically assaulted by my wife because I've shouted in rejoice:
" I can't believe you can have THAT MUCH BAD LUCK!"

or, I pretend I don't know the puzzle to keep the game going for a while but then can't hold in my smile

"You asshole, you knew this whole time. I don't appreciate you toying with me. This is why I don't like playing boar games with you."

However, nothing tops playing a marathon session of Monopoly where you have landed on Free Parking 4 times to your wife's zero. At this point, she is slamming the thimble down and saying "Fine, here's the last of it, doesn't matter, you're going to win anyways."

Oh how sweet it all really is

Settlers of Catan is awesome, but Carcassonne is even better. Strangely, the best of all might be The Kids of Carcassonne: it is for kids, but it is still a strategy game.

Blokus is my wife's favorite.

But, the game that is the most fun is Cards Against Humanity. ( @BuddhaBus ).
