He'll likely be more like Casey on year ten: old & ineffective.

Pass.

We need to have a Free Agency thread. Just merge all the free agent topics into one giant thread. Just a thought!

Anyways, he's going to command more than we're willing to give a 32 year old NT.

all these veterans players who have been released or are asking to be released have been taking significant pay cuts with their new teams.

we should be all over it like stink on shit.

which is still better than young alameda tailmoo in year 1 or 2. Vince's injury as not career threatening in he should be back to 100 percent. Wrecking the line and causing havoc.

Patriots just need Vince's money to give to revis and he is insulted.

I agree. If we can get him cheap its a no brainer stop gap until we can find the next long term solution.

In other news, his wikipedia page lists his weight as 490...a very subtle, yet hilarious, edit

Yes, Wilfork is not being cut due to being ineffective; he is a cap casualty.

But, if we are expecting to get the 2008 Wilfork and/or the 2005 Hampton, then we are going to be sadly disappointed. Age catches up to these guys quickly, when they weight 350. Casey went from great to good to abysmal in a matter of three seasons.

That said, if he is an improvement over McClendon, then heck, why not??? But, that is the real question: is he indeed an improvement over McClendon?

I don't want them shelling out big money. But if he'll sign a reasonable two year deal? Then you can start McClendon at RE and not be completely screwed. Hopefully by year 2 the young guys have it figured out. They'd be foolish not to at least talk to him.

Yep.
Kick the tires... and if it doesn't feel right, no harm.
