What I have found so far about Benjamin mostly from his last year of stats is:

Benjamin had 84 rec/ for 1,506 in 2 years
8 out of 14 games held to 3 catches or less. And that wasn't against stellar competition (wake forrest, bethune-cookman, nevada, etc.)
And had only 3 100 yard games in 14 all season.
4.61 speed in 40.
Biggest games were 9 for 212 against Florida and 3 for 103 Boston Col.
His game log stats for 2012 are not great either with him only topping 60 yards 3 times and his high was 77.

Look at his game by game stats. Very inconsistent.

The Steelers may be enamored with his height and body mass but NFL network had a stat that in the entire history of the NFL only 2 players played WR over 240 and neither was a star. He would have to be the first to break that trend. Benjamin is not Calvin Johnson and AJ Green. He will never be those guys simply because he runs 4.61 in the 40.

Penn State's Allen Robinson runs just as fast (or slow) as Benjamin but has far greater numbers.
177 rec. for 2479 in 3 seasons.
Last Year 97 rec for 1,432.
9 of the 12 games played had at least 98 yards.
At least 7 rec in 10 of the 12 games played.

and he can be drafted in the 2nd.
Nobody is saying Benjamin is Calvin Johnson ... but he has Alshon Jeffery , Brandon Marshall Type upside ...

Robinson just doesn't poses the upside of being that big of body ... and I'm not really enamored with nfl network stats (I seen that too) ... fact of the matter is he makes tough catches and dominated one of the better DB Core in the nation (Florida) if you can get him to put it together like that combined with AB watch out, yes he drops some but his hands are as consistent as Ebrons are (who also drops balls)

Benjamin uses his body and ability to high point the ball to his advantage in the Red Zone ... and all we need to the WR Corps is a Big Body Possesion Red Zone target , and Benjamin Potential at that is the most in this class... and The Steelers lack in that area the most, I'm tired of settling for 3 for what seems like more than anybody in the NFL, Put points on the board

AB - Great Route Runner and play maker
Wheaton will be your deep threat
Benjamin will be your possession and major red zone target

You make the best case for Benjamin out of anyone I've seen on this board. I think it's realistic that he will be there I just don't see him being he pick if the front office truly sets their board and selects BPA. If he was the selection I'd be ok with it. I'd scratch my head a bit but I do understand that his redzone skills alone would improve the offense year one. I just don't think he'd get on the field much. AB, Wheaton, Lance Moore in the slot, then Benjamin. He wouldn't see daylight unless it was special sub packages inside the redzone or 4 WR sets which are rare for Haley since he prefers to roll Miller over a 4th wideout.

I think OLB Anthony Barr, DT Aaron Donald, TE Eric Ebron or CB Darqueze Dennard are probably going to be the highest ranking players available when we select. Makes it tough.

If Dennard is on the board, I think it would be crazy not to pick him. We need a good CB to eventually take over for Taylor and Gay is not the answer. I think a big WR will be available in the 2nd round since it's a deep WR draft this year.

Agree 15 too high for Benjamin- only Evans or Watkins at 15 -if NA, pick defense.

Benjamin, or TE (best receiver on your board).
