Default Bills owner and founder Ralph Wilson dead at 95

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...son-dead-at-95

Ralph Wilson, founder and owner of the Buffalo Bills and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, died at the age of 95 the Bills announced Tuesday.

Wilson, a legendary NFL owner, formed the Bills in 1959 and was one of the original American Football League owners.

"No one loved the game of football more than Ralph Wilson," Russ Brandon, Buffalo's CEO, said Tuesday.

During Wilson's run as owner, the Bills captured an AFL Championship (1964-1965) and four consecutive AFC titles in 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 but never a Super Bowl.

Wilson was a one-time president of the AFL, helped negotiate the merger between the NFL and AFL anas [sp] the league began to blossom into what it's become today.

The group of men who helped form the AFL were known as "The Foolish Club," and Wilson was one of two surviving members. Only Barron Hilton now remains alive and Wilson was the last remaining NFL owner of the group.

R.I.P.

Not a bad return on investment

Wilson purchased the Bills for $25,000 in 1959. The franchise's estimated value was $870 million as of August 2013, according to Forbes.

Have to wonder how long the Bills stay in Buffalo, which in terms of market size is Green Bay without the legendary history

Tough time for the Bills franchise and its fans

Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly is expected to undergo surgery Thursday following the return of oral cancer. His wife, Jill, says the cancer is aggressive and starting to spread.

There is worry among Bills fans that this will be the final straw in moving the team out of Buffalo.

RIP Ralph. It's a shame he never saw a Super Bowl victory.

Can't let the Bills leave Buffalo. Buffalo will support the team, they need a QB in the worst way. I dont think EJ Manuel is the guy. They need a Jim Kelly, tough, talented and who's identity meshes with the town. Green Bay would be in the same boat as Buffalo had they not had Favre and Rodgers. That Qb, who can ball in that weather, is big.

Ralph Wilson wanted to leave the team to his family (sons) I believe but they don't want the team. Not sure what it is now.
