Default Developmental QB

Would like to see what Austin Summer 6'5'' 235 from SDSU could offer as a developmental guy. Has the Rothlisberger/Bortles look, deep ball has a nice arc. Seems grounded in talking to media. Not sure of overall arm strength, seems to throw a number of short passes to the sideilnes, has nice touch on intermediate passes, didn't see him throw on a rope, but only watched part of one game.

Will add 1-2 guys for camp, would like this to be one of them.
Is this projected FA from a competitive program that much less than Sean Mannion (also a tall QB), who some are projecting to be drafted in 4th by Steelers??

This should be the year to see if some small school guys, some QBs with "potential" could challenge for a roster spot, then look at drafting a QB next year.

I have no interest in spending a draft pick on a QB this year. They'll bring in an undrafted free agent as a training camp arm again like they do every year and roll with Ben, Gradkowski and Landry Jones once the season starts.

I think it's time to start looking at it but this is not the draft to do it in unless a good one slips to you. What if a guy like Brett Hundley fell to our 3rd rd pick? Unlikely but not out of the question.

I would be tempted.

I like Bryce Petty better than all of them. Best QB in this class in my opinion.

We already picked up a fourth QB. We won't draft one.

Landry Jones might not even make the team this year if he doesn't show something in camp. Tahj Boyd was signed and will give him somebody to compete with for the last qb spot. We may bring in one more udrafted guy but I don't see it

The Jets drafted Tahj Boyd last year and he was beyond awful. One of the worst summers for a QB I can remember and the Jets have had some stinkers. He was literally run out of camp by Matt Simms.
