Thumbs up Non-Steeler games I look forward to in 2014

Chicago at San Francisco
Philadelphia at Indianapolis

Week 3
Dallas at St. Louis
Baltimore at Cleveland

Green Bay at Chicago
Carolina at Baltimore
Philadelphia at San Francisco
New England at Kansas City

Week 5
Chicago at Carolina
St. Louis at Philadelphia

Week 17
Cleveland at Baltimore

I prefer the following types of matchups:

1. Those that don't occur often
(ex. Chicago at New England)

2. Those involving explosive offenses versus punishing defenses
(ex. Arizona at Denver)

3. Brutal defensive struggles
(ex. Seattle at Carolina)

4. Bitter division rivalries
(ex. Kansas City at Oakland)

5. Bitter conference rivalries
(ex. Tennessee at Baltimore)

6. Intrastate rivalries
(ex. Houston at Dallas)

(ex. Cleveland at Buffalo)

So which games are you looking forward to?

Will have to scour the schedule, but off the top of my head...

Week 1: SF @ DAL (for the uni's and the rivalry)
Week 3: DEN @ SEA (If SEA can beat DEN on a neutral field by 35, then they can win by 50 at the CLink)

As usual, the NBC Sunday night slate made out well - and just to rub it in NBC gets Seattle at the 49ers on Thanksgiving night rather than CBS getting that Thursday night game

Fred Gaudelli was in good spirits on Wednesday evening, and it went well beyond his staying at an oceanfront resort in the Dominican Republic. The producer of Sunday Night Football had received a call earlier in the day from his boss, NBC Sports Group chairman Mark Lazarus, relaying to him the games he would be producing for the 2014 regular season. The Sunday Night Football schedule is always tasty, but this year Gaudelli will have some extra gravy on Thanksgiving night -- an NFC championship game rematch between the reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks and 49ers....

NBC's Sunday Night Football features 19 primetime regular season games, including the NFL kickoff opener on Sept. 4 when the Seahawks host the Packers.

Every 2013 playoff team will appear on Sunday Night Football, with 16 of NBC's 18 scheduled games involving at least one playoff team from last season. The Broncos, Cowboys, Niners, Packers, Patriots and Seahawks will each appear three times on NBC broadcasts.

Surprised the defending Super Bowl champ Seahawks only got one night game at home - this is one theory as to why

A league source told ProFootballTalk that the Seahawks didn't get anymore prime-time home games because the NFL was "wary of putting Seahawks home games on in prime time due to their track record of blowouts in nationally televised games played in Seattle the last several seasons."

If this is why, that's complete bullshit. If you're as dominant as they are on home field, you should be rewarded, not punished.

The network isn't thinking reward or punishment, just revenue.

Right, but they're taking them out of primetime games because they're blowouts? How about scheduling better teams to play the Seahawks at home?

Seahawks kill everyone at home.

Except for the Pats two years ago, every decent opponent loses by double-digits at the CLink.

Except for the surprise Bucs near-win, few teams make it a game there.

Also factoring in the time difference, it's smart to avoid scheduling prime time games at Seattle.

Hawks are 28-12 at CLink since 2009.

They're 15-1 with Russell Wilson as their QB. In those games the average score is 30-13. Only five of those 15 (1/3) were wins of seven points or fewer.

Of those last 10 blowout wins, only one was 10 points; the other nine were 18+point victories.

SSS and product of 'right place/right time', maybe, but a valid concern nonetheless.
