Bettis 36 Grille is, more or less, a tourist trap. While it's "cool" to go to Bettis' restaurant, it has the same exact fare as the Eddie George Grille in Columbus, and numerous others.

Colts game is one the Steelers need to win if they intend to contend for the division

Does Bettis's still not take reservations?
They do not take them in advance, no. Unless people are sitting watching a game though, they move people through pretty quick. I was able to get a table at 1 PM before a 4 PM Pirates game yesterday with no problem. Steelers weekends are admittedly worse though.

Tourist trap? That's a bit off base. That implies that the food isn't good, which it certainly is. I could care less where else they serve it.

Make sure you hit up Burgatory too though. Best burger of your life.

Don't forget your terrible towel. Better yet pick up several on the strip beforehand. ;)
I will be there for the Texas game and want to eat at Primanti's. A restaurant here in Lex has a sandwich that is like theirs and I love it. I want to try the Burger place you mentioned. I love a good burger...

Ya I think the GPS will bring me in that way. Looks like Primanti's is an easy walk. I'll have to look up the Burgatory! Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to freak out people. Freak...Out.

I am from California (San Jose); my co-workers and I go to a game every year. Plenty of fans attend from all of over. Just need to take that first step and go. You'll have a blast. Let me know if you need any details (plenty of helpful people in this group that would give you suggestions/recommendations.

FA,

I didn't think it was possible to contract the flu in Hawaii with all of that beautiful weather

I second the heinz field tour, it was pretty interesting and a lot of steelers history to look at. I stayed at the hyatt place, which was really convenient because it's like 1 block away from the stadium, you don't have to worry about traffic and stuff like that.

Primanti bros and peppi's are places to go eat, the city overall is pretty nice. I spent a lot of time walking around and sightseeing, with no destination in general. Sometimes that's the most fun haha. nearby primanti's i saw this street that was this huge open market where you can buy steelers/pirates/penguins memorabilia for several blocks. Stuff you can't find in stores like the 'cleveland sucks' t-shirt i bought :)

I went to grille 36 a few times mostly because it was convenient (across the street and they had better food than the hotel). burgers were pretty good, they had some cute waitresses there haha.

Only thing that took me by surprise is they don't sell alcohol at gas stations there, you need to go to an actual beer distributor, which really pissed me off cause i had no idea before i got there. So pre-partying before the game was a 2 hour adventure driving around the city asking where the beer is at? lol

people there are really friendly, i had people buying me free beer when they found out i flew all the way from hawaii to see the game, and another dude bought me a couple beers after i told him i served in the military during some small talk. everyone around the city is rocking the b&g, if i wasn't such an addict for surfing and outdoor life i'd probably love living there.
