Doesn't come close to the Immaculate Reception. Wasn't the last play of the game. Wasn't as desperate. Wasn't as controversial. Wasn't the Steelers' first post-season win.

Actually, the article does ask for a vote. Just for the record, I'm with V on this one, and apparently a whole lot of other fans feel the same way...

Now, if were asking about the most memorable play in Steeler Super Bowl history, I'm with ya, just for the fact that we may never see a LB returning a pick six for 100 yards again, and being the game changer is was to boot.

I'm with the minority: Harrison's play was the difference in winning #6. He gambled to make the play and he just made it to the opposite goal line for the TD.

I'm not going to take anything away from the Immaculate Reception. I was one year old when that happened so I never experienced the real emotion that went with seeing it live.

I don't know about you, but I value the Super Bowl more than a first round playoff victory.

2 of the possibly best super bowl plays in steelers history were in the same game it seems :)

The Immaculate Reception was the most important play in franchise history. PERIOD! It doesn't happen and we lose that game, you don't know if the team goes back to the old ways or continues to move forward..

I'm from the old school and seen the Immaculate Reception take place. The thing that makes it so special was it took place at home and was the last play of the game. We lost the next week to Miami on a fake punt. But I have to say the Harrison intersection was more important, without it, we lose that Super Bowl. Both were incredible plays that's for sure.

I'm from the old school to.. I was around then... way before then....

MD mentioned something about the team reverting back to it's prior record when the play happened to set the course for the future. That's a great observation, but that was exactly how we felt after the next game, a loss to the Dolphins ... Will we revert to being the same old Steelers?

Words can not describe the deflation that occurred after that fake punt.......it was like it was over, our once in a lifetime shot was gone for good...... that's what the expectation was....My heavens, if you were around to see the 67-68 Steelers, I doubt really seriously there would be much discussion about how long Ben holds the ball, running backs dancing at the hole, or the DC should call it a career... for that matter, there would be little interest for a board like this.

I think that is why that one play is STILL the one those of us older fans look back at as the one that got us over the hump.

Actually, what got us over the hump was a much more drawn out process, aided greatly by the 74 draft.
