I've been reading the training camp practice notes almost every day, I have to say most of the time I read Mike Adams' name it's not a good thing. He's generally getting pushed and pulled around. At this point he should be showing improvement and honestly I haven't seen anything from the guy to suggest he's gotten better in any way. He should definitely be better under Munchak's tutelage and yet I still read nothing but negative notes about him.

Post injury? I don't think so. He's slightly more consistent, but still not very good.

If we're going by the first preseason game, absolutely not. Whimper looked horrible.

......... No.

It would be fair to say that it would be much, much more fair to say that Whimper is much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, Much MUCH MUCH,MUCH more way awesome and spectacular in pass protection than Adams!

Does every single point have to be so overstated, over emphasized, and exaggerated?

Last years regular season tape disagrees with you, Tony.

But hey, maybe he can be a cap casualty like Colon was one day. Let's hope, right?

I dont for a second believe you are reviewing last seasons tape to do a comparative analysis of Guy Whimpers snaps and Mike Adams. Or are you scouting assistant doing quality control.

No, I believe you are just pulling shit out of your ass.

I disagree with you. Feel free to provide the "tape" to prove me wrong.

or are you going to dig up 3 tweets from last year?

Unless he's playing guard he's useless. Close to a bust already.

Does your standard response always have to be condescending?

Gilbert is not going to play left guard, to even suggest it shows how out of touch you are with the Steelers.

So you think you're John Kerry (married to Teresa Heinz ) - and I'm Mitt Romney? This isn't exactly politics, but since you're yet again begging to be schooled in a debate by a fourth grader (see what I did there)...

Anyone with common sense knows my response to Teegre's HYPOTHETICAL question was clearly tongue-in-cheek because although Gilbert would be the best at LG (out of Gilbert, Foster and Beachum) from a talent perspective, Gilbert is currently better served as the RT because Foster is a more cost effective mauler at LG and we don't have a better alternative at the tackle position.

The original question posed to El Gonzo was prefaced by these assumptions:

1) Adams was given the starting LT job last year, but should not have been there. He has been inconsistent since drafted and Gilbert should have been at the LT spot in 2013 and Adams at the RT spot. Adams would then get reps and playing time before challenging for the LT job.

2) It was deemed that Gilbert would not be a suitable LT, and it played out that an undersized guy with great technique is our current best option.

3) Although great O line technique is imperative, Beachum is still not going to be physically dominating anybody. If Adams or Gilbert cant play LT in 2015, I still think we need to upgrade the LT spot from Beachum.

4) Honestly under a ZBS scheme, I think Beach is a good LG. I just prefer the nasty maulers inside like Foster and DeCastro, but if running a lot of Zone, then Beachums athleticism and technique are a plus. He isnt gonna maul anybody for the yards on a 3rd and 2, but likely take the right angle to make a crease for the RB.

"So... if you had to choose: Foster or Beachum?"

We don't have to choose... but IF* I had to (and we had an upgrade at tackle in the 2015 draft... i.e. Iowa St. or Florida St. LTs) and my goal is to build the most dominant offensive line in the NFL... than I'm moving Gilbert to LG because he is the mauler on our roster most capable of playing that position at an elite level.

Let's focus solely on the interior, which of the following options would be the most dominant group of interior offensive lineman in the NFL?

A) 68 53 66
B) 73 53 66
C) 77 53 66

Hmmm, if you picked "C" then "ding, ding, ding" we have a winner!

Now, if Munchak can get Adams to play anywhere close to his potential on a consistent basis and we get an elite tackle in the 2015 draft... can you pronounce Sevens-, Eights-, nay Tensburgh!!!
