Default Archer: "I Showed That I Can Play In The NFL "

"Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has previously stated that Archer will be used in different spots on the field."

The new 'Polamalu of the offense' ?

Article:

We already knew that Dri Archer was crazy fast. On Saturday, we got a sneak peak of what that speed can do against an NFL defense.

Excellent Read, , I surely do appreciate the speed aspect he brings, I love the confidence he has, but please young fella don't bring attention to yourself, please don't taunt other teams through the media. Let your actions speak for themselves by your play on the field. There are some nasty "head-hunters" in the NFL, don't make yourself the hunted!!!

I'm thinking more along the lines of eric metcalf where he's listed as a rb/kr but used mostly as a slot receiver and an occasional run here and there.

I'm guilty of not being able to see past the Chris Rainey fail. hope archer can succeed.

they're both smallish guys but watching both of them play i don't see anything beyond that. archer is faster, stronger, and has a more versatile skillset than rainey.

rainey in = everybody knew it was going to be a screen or off-tackle run. archer is the type of player that will keep defenses guessing

I thought Archer's game of choice was Lacrosse?

Not that I spend much time agreeing with Tomlin but he did mention they have had players in the past like him. Rainey, Logan andů.one other name I think.

That doesn't mean he would perform the same but it's hard not to compare.

For me though I think more about if the coaches are going to be creative enough and willing enough to max his potential. They never seemed to give Rainey too much of a shot. Or maybe I am just remembering wrong.

The play they ran that Archer almost took to the house was a great design but will the coaches keep up that level of creativity? I worry about them more than Archer.

It was AB that was the 4th one Tomlin referenced.

Even though Archer got a few RB snaps at he end of the half that looked promising, keep in mind, it was against 2nd and 3rd teamers. We need to see it against the Varsity. Personally, I think he got the tools and gumption, but just how many hits that body going to take before it brakes down remains to be seen,

Well they say he is short but not small. Apparently he is built tough and he isn't going to get a heavy workload given Bell and Blount being around. I think his body should hold up.
