Sign Tebow.

No joke.

Laugh as much as you want but even if he just uses his legs he would not be a bad backup QB at all. I would trust Tebow to win us a game in a pinch over Landry Jones or Gradkowski. He may not be starter material but, REALLY, would you be that scared of handing him the ball if Ben got hurt for a game or two? You have to factor in that even if his passing sucks his running game might make up for it in a pinch. The media storm would be annoying for a little bit but between Manziel and LeBron it might go away fast. And obviously the Steelers are a team that won't perpetuate it.
Imagine a wildcat package with him, Bell/Blount, and Archer out wide.. They'd have to respect the run, but be fearful of the screen to Archer..

THE LAST TIME TWO QB'S FROM SAME TEAM GOT HURT AND FORCED THE QB TO PLAY WAS 40 YEARS AGO.

That is wrong!
In the 80,s the 49ers had Freddie Solomon finish game because all QB's injuried.
In the 90's the redskins had brian Mitchell finish a game as well.

I also think Hines wards had to play QB.

Houston Texans played their third string QB because the 2nd string QB sucked so bad in a game.

Might as well. I heard an interesting conversation on NFL radio a couple of weeks ago. The odds are pretty damned low that you're going to get a serviceable QB in the last 3 rounds. So, unless you're willing to spend the cap room to sign 2 #2 QBs, there's not much point in signing a 6th round project you think you can turn into a backup in 3 years (because you won't).

I'd go with 2 QBs and set up a wildcat package with one of my RBs/WRs as the emergency QB.

He may be a HoF tight end in the rough-- but what was it he has shown us on the football field that makes people think he could play either position?

To suggest that a guy (who was lackluster at his native position to begin with) can come in and just suddenly morph into a tight end or H-back must really offend some players. Can Tebow block? Can he catch a pass?

if I were Heath Miller-- I would fart in Tebow's general direction or anybody who suggests he could just waltz over to the tight end group and be accepted or be able to perform.

NOTE: No hate for Steelfury02-- I generally always like your posts! I just get sick of the Tebow hype-machine.
no prob . . .

he's got the physical tools, the guy is too talented of an athlete not to be on an NFL roster IMO

also

as I stated first and foremost - I wouldn't like the attention it would bring

and

I said it wasn't happening so, I'm not too up in arms about it

he was good enough to help beat our Steelers in the playoffs

so lastly I say - he beat our Steelers in the playoffs so he is worth something - his abilities on the football field earned my respect

not everything has to be labeled - I just think he is a great asset

Tim Tebow would be a great H-back, but he's too proud to be known as merely a football player. He has to be a QB. Too bad.

He's a great athlete, tougher to bring down than an angry armadillo, and has a nose for the end zone. He could take handoffs and catch short passes and then do his thing.

Jones would make it to the practice squad, most likely, unless he really lights it up in these last three preseason games.

So yeah, he would make it to the practice squad.

Okay. Ed was mistaken. Bit happened to one team over 20 years ago. The odds are very good for any team keeping two quarterbacks.

I do like the idea of a developmental QB with tools to start. I do not think Landry Jones is that person.
