Didn't Dixon replace Batch (broken wrist), who replaced Ben (headshot) in that game?

Being transplanted to MO I ate some crow after that game.

You're right.

I was thinking about 2012... and you were talking about 2009. (I've tried to block out EVERYTHING about that season. Ugh.)

yes...

* Landry Jones was the quarterback who followed Ben Roethlisberger onto the field. On his first attempt, Jones threw into double coverage in an attempt to get the ball to Lance Moore over the middle, and CB Nickell Roby intercepted for the Bills.

* Landry Jones’ second turnover of the night, a lost fumble following a sack/strip by DT Stefan Charles. Defensive tackle Landon Cohen recovered the fumble and ran it 59 yards to the Pittsburgh 16-yard line. From there, the Bills scored the touchdown that tied the game, 13-13, which is how it was entering the fourth quarter.

The Steelers must let the janitor in the draft day room make the 4th round pick every few years (Sepulveda/Jones)

I also miss Charlie as a person but having a backup who is about to qualify for joining AARP probably is not a long term solution

After last night, we're better off riding with Ben and Bruce. Bruce isn't special, but at least he looks like the kind of guy who won't blow the game for you. Landry Jones played himself off the team last night. He can't even do the simplest things right.

I know we all miss Charlie Batch, but he can't play forever unfortunately.

Ed.B. of the P-G remains unimpressed with Landry Jones

--- Landry Jones continues to have problems playing the quarterback position. He is “sacked” often in practice because he does not find an open receiver. He was sacked Saturday night, but more irritating to his coaches has to be his fumble on the play. He also threw an interception over the middle into double coverage on his first pass. His coaches had to want to see him more than five passes worth but perhaps saw enough and replaced him with Bruce Gradkowski in the third quarter.

--- This is not likely to happen, but with all the hand-wringing over picking the final 53-man roster, the Steelers could save a spot by going with two quarterbacks and putting Landry Jones on their practice squad. They would risk losing Jones by exposing him to waivers if they did so, but really, would anyone else sign him to their 53-man roster at this point? And, if so, oh well, rookie Brendon Kay can be No. 3 on the practice squad.

--- Having three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster makes little sense unless you do not have one who is eligible for the practice squad or who you fear losing if exposed to waivers. That third quarterback does not dress for games anyway so if both quarterbacks go down in a game, you could not turn to No. 3 either way. Having the No. 3 on the practice squad, though, gets him just as much practice time as if he were on the 53. And if a quarterback does get hurt in a game and would be out for at least the next game, the No. 3 can be signed to the 53-man roster that week and there is nothing lost in the process.

Like the jab about Landry Jones "continuing to have problems playing the quarterback position" Maybe he can try out for long snapper

Hey, that's not true! Landry Jones can execute the kneel-down as well as any quarterback in the league.

Wins are a team statistic, not a quarterback statistic.

Winning big will not earn a team two wins, nor will winning ugly give a team only half a win.

I never ever thought I would say this but......at this point, I would rather bring in and sign " Brady Quinn " or even " John Skelton " at QB then Landry Jones!!
