that is not to say they are a SB caliber team without him - he was the missing piece to the puzzle - just goes to show that Denver built everything around Peyton. Same in NE. That is why both have lost the big one. They went up against a better all around team.
The 1992-97 and 2001 Steelers arguably had better overall talent at the non-QB positions than the teams that went to 3 Super Bowls in 6 seasons - quality QB play really matters in the post-season - the Steelers have received it from Ben - Peyton is nowhere near the postseason QB he is in the regular season (Exhibit A - compare the 2005 regular season and playoff Steelers-Colts games)

And as far as the impact of Ben on the current squad, IMO the Steelers would have been a 4-12 or 6-10 team the past 2 seasons without him

F' Sanders. Never liked him anyway and said he wouldn't last long on the team. Ben should have let him go to the Pats in 13'.

At the least, he's now known as one of those slimy type guys that talks bad behind the people's backs that tries to help him. When I hear the word "snitch" I think of him for some reason.

Out of the "Bugatti Boys", he was the one with the least talent.

He won't last long in Denver either.

no, not really - if I had to put money down on any team that can win without their starting QB - it is the Steelers. don't forget, we have Tomlin - who helped coach this team to a 3-1 start. If Ben got injured today - everyone would think we were going to automatically lose week 1 at home?

everyone wants to point how the Gradkowskis of the world and the Tebows of the world can beat our top defense, but never let them under center for our offense if they were forced to - I just don't get that line of thinking

more than ever, I think there are weapons to be had for a backup - Bell, Brown and Heath are 3 reliable weapons that can get you the short to intermediate routes, along with a run game and improved O-line - imagine if it was Ward at the end, Wallace (one trick) and Brown (still emerging)

absolutely in the post-season, absolutely it makes a difference

I'm just making the point - that, if there were a team that doesn't believe in folding when your QB is out - it is this team.

Defense and a good run game is essentially what can help you win without your starting QB. Our defense for all we know is still bad and our run game was okay last year. Bell should be better but our line has to stay healthy which always seems to be an issue.

If Ben goes down we are in trouble. And that same Tomlin that coached this team to a 3-1 start also coached this team to an 0-4 start last season on top of back to back 8-8 seasons with no playoffs.

We are a team in transition at this point and the last thing a team like that can afford is for the QB to go down. Broncos were winning with Tebow. Manning going down wouldn't be the end of the world.

Sanders' lips had to be surgically removed from Manning's ass......therefore he was unable to play.

Luckily he was able to say everything he needed to say about Big Ben before the surgery. I'm surprised the media could understand him with the liplock he had on Peyton's posterior while talking.
