Default Free Agent RBs

According to one report, here's who's out there...

Quote:
Michael Bush
Bush has been in the league since 2007, so he's an experienced back. He played four seasons with the Oakland Raiders where he ran for 2,642 yards on 4 yards per carry. Pretty impressive considering it was the Raiders offensive line. In 2011, he ran for a career high 977 yards and seven touchdowns, while having over 400 receiving yards. He's not an elite back, but the Steelers might want to give this guy a call.
Bush is also a very large back, who can be used in goal line situations.

Willis McGahee
McGahee is by far the most established back on this list. The 32-year-old veteran has rushed for over 1,000 yards four times in his career, on three different teams. He has over 8,000 career rushing yards and rarely fumbles. But last season was a disaster for McGahee. Injuries and a poor Cleveland Browns system result in career lows across the board. Maybe it was a fluke. It was after all the browns offensive line.
McGahee is an established veteran who is worth a low dollar risk.

Tashard Choice
Choice is a versatile running back. He's not an every down back who can carry the load, but his receiving skills can help a team. With the Dallas Cowboys, Choice averaged 4.6 yards per carry and did a lot damage out of the backfield. Choice has only fumbled seven times in 88 career games. Choice hasn't been playing his best football lately with the Buffalo Bills or Indianapolis Colts, but his high speed and athleticism can help the Steelers.

LaRod Stephens-Howling
Howling isn't going to make a huge difference, but if the Steelers want to sign a player for the lowest amount, he could be their guy. He's only 27 years old, and he did play for the University of Pittsburgh. In 2012, Howling had 463 total yard yards but last season had an ACL injury. Howling is also a very good kick returner who has multiple 1,000 yard kick return seasons.
I'd take McGahee from that group.

Who else is available???

I also think that a final cut somewhere might work. Perhaps a young guy with talent on a team with a crowd at running back.

To my understanding we won't need a back up till next year, but if we do need one this year, I would take Bush.

Unless the list is for next year's free agents, this doesn't matter.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

In my high school AP poly-sci class (the local college sent a professor over to the school), there was a pop quiz on current events in politics.

The question asked: Who is the newest Democratic candidate for presidency?

I replied: Martina Navratilova... because, she can lick Bush.

(In my lifetime, I've spent a lot of time in the office.)
