Default Notebook: Polamalu says injured shoulder feels 'great'

Notebook: Polamalu says injured shoulder feels 'great'

By The Tribune-Review
Saturday, September 23, 2006

Troy Polamalu said his right shoulder feels "great," and the All-Pro safety has been upgraded from questionable to probable for Sunday's game against the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.

Santonio Holmes practiced yesterday, and the rookie wide receiver/return specialist said he will play against the Bengals even though he is still listed as questionable. Holmes (foot) missed practice Wednesday and Thursday.

It looks like the Bengals will have their full offensive arsenal for the first time this season.
Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who missed the first two games with a bad heel, practiced Thursday and is probable for tomorrow's game at Heinz Field. Houshmandzadeh caught three touchdown passes in three games against the Steelers last season.

Linebacker Larry Foote (groin), cornerback Bryant McFadden (thigh) and wide receivers Hines Ward (hamstring) and Nate Washington (finger) are probable for tomorrow's game. Four Bengals are already out for the 1 p.m. contest, including starting center Rich Braham (knee) and starting safety Dexter Jackson (ankle). Reserve wide receiver Antonio Chatman (groin) is doubtful.

Digits

2 - Yards the Steelers averaged on four punt returns through their first two games.

9 - NFL average for yards on punt returns through first the two games.

12 - Players listed on the Bengals' injury report Friday.

27 - The Steelers' rank in total offense, out of 32 NFL teams.

I can't help but wonder if that is completely true. Troy was looking pretty bad. I think the term "great" is exaggerated just a bit.

How can a shoulder heal in 5 days?

It went from hanging limp and being completely useless to feeling great?

He didn't say it healed, and I don't think his shouler was completley useless either. In my opinion, he could have been playing it safe so that he doesn't cause any further damage.

This is great news by the way and I'm sure we'll see how it really feels for him come sunday afternoon.

Thumbs up Re: Notebook: Polamalu says injured shoulder feels 'great'

If it's healed good enough to play, let's do it!

And Bush says we are on the road to victory in Iraq

Troy is the best, but what do we expect him to say?

Let's see if he is able to raise his right arm tomorrow before we celebrate

His arm was useless and there really wasnt any movement with it ... i doubt has gotten too much better either... Troy said in an interview after the game that he would not have said anything about it if it was not so noticeable and asked about it ... I am sure is still not even close to being better, but with the bye week coming up, he is just going to play it out.

I saw where there was inflamation in the bursa sac....Bursitis is very painful but totally able to be treated in 5 days. A 100% Healthy Troy would be a Godsend!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope he is feeling better. Troy is the kind of guy that would do anything he can to be out on that football field. Last week he didn't look good, however, he has had another week so I'm keeping my fingers crossed
