That's fine. It's not like finishing 4th is terrible - they were 4th last year and won the Cup. But looking at those schedules - the toughest games the Devils have are Montreal, Chicago, Philly and Buffalo, while the Pens have to play Washington twice, Detroit, Philly and a Tampa Bay squad looking for wins and points to try to get into the playoffs. Edge Devils.

Having an "edge" schedule wise means jack. Just as I always say in football - any given game. The Pens turned it up a hundred notches last year at this same time and I am confident they will do it again IF they can stay healthy.

Well, we'll see. Last year, they were in a battle just to get in. This year, they're pretty much assured of getting in, so the same hunger may not be there down the stretch, and the schedule is not in their favor. So unless they get on a roll and get some help from some mediocre to bad teams, I still think the Devils will end up on top. When the bell rings for game one of the playoffs, though, they will be ready to go. No doubt in my mind on that.

What a rough game to watch tonight. Embarrassing.

One positive though is that this was the last game of the season against them.

Yeah, they kicked our ass and won out but if we do get them in the playoffs it will just be a storyline for the media to pick up on in the beginning and then again at the end to point out the irony when we kick their asses!

I was thinking the same thing when watching that.

I have a feeling that your feeling is just a day off and that that feeling will come to fruition tomorrow night against the Bruins. I feel it.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit concerned they will be on the PK more than us due to retribution for the Savard hit, so Staalsy will have less opportunities than them for a shorty.

I really hope nobody on that team does something stupid.

Oh well - the Pens fell short last night. On to the Bruins tonight and hopefully we'll come out with a big W. I expect a really physical game tonight and along with the W, I am praying everyone gets out of there without injury.

I'd really like to see them finish in the Top 4 so that we won't have to play the Debs, but what will be will be. I believe in 'em no matter who they play.

Well, that was ugly.

Sloppy play at the blue line was the downfall.
Getting a clean line change even seems problematic.

Malkin was definately missed.

Just have to put this one behind us, and push forward.

Just FYI, the referees for tonight's game:

Stephen Walkom
Bill McCreary

Walkom I'm not all that concerned about - he's a decent ref, plus he lives in Moon Twp. in the offseason. McCreary, on the other hand...well, we can expect the Pens to get effed and effed good.
