Thanks for posting those links, 83 - they only reinforce my opinion that Fingold is NOT on the up-and-up. He wants to move the team to KC, and he will find a way to move the team to KC the first chance he gets - Plan B is completely irrelevant to him.

as sad as that would be, since mario wouldn't really be at total fault at all(paging mayor murphy), i think this WILL be true.

he'll get fricking run out of town quicker than bubby brister and tommy maddox.

here's nifty link for anyone who owns property in allegheny county...no 'real' reason to post it here. no 'agenda' or anything like that. btw - i couldn't believe they released the chick's name who hit big ben. i had her address from this within SECONDS of learning her name, and i didn't mean her any harm at all. scary what kind of liberties the press can take with our safety, ain't it?

In all 3 cases you cite above, the cities refused to come up with new arena deals, plus let's not forget Hartford as well. Minnesota of course has a team again with a new building, and Winnipeg has also built a new arena, though it's capacity is too small for NHL standards. But with Gary Butt-Head running the show, I have no faith at all in the NHL. He's already ruined the game enough with his stupid rules changes and trying to take physical play out of the sport...he would sign off on the Pens' moving in a heartbeat if he know it would make the league and the owners more money. He doesn't care about Pittsburgh either.

I just want to know how a Canadian businessman has any insight into negotiations going on in the Pa State Senate.

All he has to do is read the local media to know what's going on in the state Senate. Isle of Capri has been the underdog from day one, and up until last week, there was no viable Plan B finalized. Being one of the bidders, you'd also have to think he gets updated on the situation daily by his officials, who may get their info directly from government officials. It isn't like he was kept totally in the dark and he's speaking with no knowledge at all on what's going on.

I don't know. The whole thing seems shady to me.

If the Penguins leave, I'll become a Flyers fan.

I'm curious to why the only person who has claimed it offered 170 million was Murstein. Why does he get all of our trust as being the honest boyscout?

This is the same guy that has failed at least once (probably more if reports are more correct.) at buying sports franchises.

It's not just about the money. He can offer 270 million and still be turned down. Because once you start looking into his group you find out he doesn't have the money to make that type of offer.

People are ready to run Mario out of town but at the same time they need to realize in the real world it won't be a 5 million dollar difference. Maybe in their offers it's 5 million but in reality it could be 55 million because Murstein's group can't come up with the funds.

Again, Murstein has failed before in trying to buy a sports franchise. He got Cuban not as an investor but as a publicity ploy to try and force Mario to give a hometown discount. Why trust this guy and take his word as gospel?

It's all very shady at this point in time. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions and screaming bloody murder a little premature? Just have to sit back and watch how this all unfolds. It's not looking good though.

It's all shady. Nothing about this deal has been on the up and up from the very get go.

And the fact that KC is involved should make everyone very nervous.

I agree completely. That's that stating you will become a Browns fan if the Steelers ever left town.
