Donnie Shell Hall of Fame

I will acknowledge up front my bias -- but I cannot figure out why Donnie Shell is not in the HOF -- he has only made it as a finalist a couple of times -- but this guy was outstanding - speed, hit like a mack truck, excellent coverage guy - I forget his exact stats but I know he had something like 50 pics in his career -definetly one of the the top 5 safeties to ever play the game - his famous goal line hit against Earl Campbell played at the beginning of NFL Live for years back in the 80s -- I'm starting to hear the debates again for next year's candidates and his name isn't coming up-the only thing I can think of is that the voters feel they have elected enough Steelers from that era... what a shame.. this guy deserves it as much as the other Steelers already in...

thanks for the stats -- Wish there was some way to start a rally..this guy needs to be in the HOF -- you always hear the Cowboys fans crying for Cliff Harris -- Harris is a chump compared to Shell -- I think the voters have made up their minds -- no more Steelers from that era...

You can thank Peter King for that. King is about as anti-Steelers as you can get, and you can bet your bottom dollar that when the time comes he'll be leading the Troy Brown cheering section for him to get into the HOF.

No kidding! -- what is it with this guy? -- you know, several years back somebody accused him of this very thing and he wrote an article about how Carnell Lake should be the NFL MVP to try and cover his huge a--.

Toatally agree wth you. If it wasn't for Jack Lambert, Donnie would be my favorite all time Steeler.

Let me ask you something else -- do you think he was the forgotten one because he was the last one of that great defense to retire? -- by the time he came up for consideration, they had already handed out so many to that defense, that he gets overlooked...
