BC, 5-1, suffers from the inability to bring in many of the best players in the country
due to their high academic standards. Consequently they usualy produce 7 and 4, 6 and 5, etc., records. Once in awhile they bust out and put together a good season. I'm hoping this is one of them. Going for BC this year is the fact that 2 of their remaining opponents, Miami and Fl. St., are weaker then usual. "The Boston College defense took center stage in Thursday night's 22-3 victory over Virginia Tech. The BC defense, ranked last in the ACC entering the game, forced four turnovers, had five sacks and held Virginia Tech to just 181 total yards of offense. The Eagle offense gained only 267 total yards, but was very efficient and did not commit a turnover. Matt Ryan passed for 175 yards with a pair of touchdowns to Kevin Challenger. L.V. Whitworth and Andre Callender combined for 92 yards on 32 carries. The other big news came from walk-on kicker Steve Aponavicius who made all four of his kicks (two field goals and two extra points). Boston College (5-1, 2-1 in the ACC) will take on Florida State a week from Saturday in Tallahassee." http://www.bceaglesfootball.com/ |

Virginia Tech usually finds a way to fall on their faces.
They've had a pretty easy schedule until losing to Georgia Tech last week and now getting beat by BC. They'll drop like a hot potato out of the top 25. |
