Micheal Irvin on ESPN NFL Sunay

I'm surprised no one commented on this.

Berman, and the boys were talking about the Steelers woes and Irvin piped up. He said that they were 7-5 last year and all the cards fell into place; Palmer's injury, Plumber was sick, Stevens dropped a TD pass... (and just like that you're SB champs, right?) "You are just seeing the Steelers for who they really are."

I think everyone else on the pannel was kind of thinking, "I guess we have to have someone on the show to make off the wall comments."

Then they all, one by one, said the Steelers wouldn't make the playoffs.

Who will be there to call them on it when they do?

I saw this as well. Berman did not rule out the Steelers to get a wildcard spot. The other three wrote them off.

As for Irving's comments. No surprise. He bashes the Steelers when he gets a chance.

Well with Baltimore and Cincy losing today things suddenly look a lot better considering we still have three games against both of them.

Nevermind the fact that we've been fairly consistent making the playoffs this decade with 3 AFC championship game appearances and a Superbowl championship. That doesn't make us a modern dynasty by any stretch of the imagination, but we've been pretty darn good for a pretty long time with some pretty tough loses in the playoffs. Given this plus the fact that we're the defending champions, I don't see why Irving is so surprised (other than the fact that he hates the Steelers).

I personally think our steelers are underrated. I mean I have never heard a media expert say anything positive about them. MEdia hates us for some reason. Oh well good for them
