Default Steelers Nation There Are Some Positives

Man, I know I have been guilty at times this year complaining about the Steelers slow start so far. But there are some positives from the loss yesterday. The passing game took off yesterday. Big Ben is back and looking like a franchise QB. Yes he suffered a concussion but he should be fine. The WR core looked really good yesterday. Hines Ward had a career day. The young pups stepped up bigtime yesterday. Both Nate Washington and Santonio Holmes both had very good games and looked very comfortable.

We havn't seen the Steelers best football yet. We will before the season ends. I promise you that. Now will it result in a playoff birth. Time will tell.

Time will tell that is that right statement right now.. If we lose 2 more games this year the play offs are out of the question.. Here's my Vote for Duce Staley to be demoted as towel boy...

I mentioned something similair to this in HTGals' do you believe thread -- I was impressed with the protection also. And I can't believe how good Batch looks -the Miami game was no fluke - I was expecting Big Ben to come back around, but I was never really impressed with Batch while he was in Detroit - he has taken his game to a whole new level - the long play to Ward was beautiful - not only the pass itself, but the way he looked the safety off - this guy's for real...

I have to admit that the playoff hopes are gatting further and further away, but it's only the middle of the season, we still have a chance. We had a few bad games last season and everyone in the 'Burgh knows what happened after that.
I have to admit that the WRs are looking good this year(their dancing needs alittle work though, )

They should go on Dancing with The Stars.

Kudos 32 - that's the spirit!

This team obviously has a plethora of talent, both vet and rookie. It isn't like they've been smeared all over the field in any of their losses thus far. Mental mistakes and turnovers that are turned into points are deadly as the Steelers have unfortunately learned the hard way.

I have said this before in this very forum and others have mentioned it as well - we still have 5 divisional games to play - 2 vs. Cleveland, 2 vs. the Rats and 1 more against the Bungles. Though Cleveland isn't mathematically out of the running, I think it is safe to assume that they won't be in contention this season for a playoff berth, but they can very well play spoiler for the Bungles or the Rats ---- or, if hell decides to freeze over ---- both. Cincy and the Rats still have to play each other twice. Anything can happen - it's been a bit of a crazy season thus far in the NFL.

As you so correctly stated, 32 - time definitely will tell, but I'm going to keep that faith!

No question our offense was lights out, but our D sucked. Only one of the two shows up to a game, you see?

The only two teams that actually beat us this year were san diego and the jags, the rest we beat ourselves with mistakes and bad officiating calls. The 76 Steelers started out kinda like this and then wound up winning thier 2nd superbowl. We can still do it, but it will be tuff. And if we don't do it this year, we always have next year, the Steelers will be around as long as football is. LETS GO STEELERS

Troy already made the Pro Bowl. And I completely agree.

Assuming we are out of gift wrapping paper...I sit here somewhat 'not' shocked by our generosity to the Bengals & Falcons. I chalk the Jags and Chargers games into the "we had to lose some" category. This season is far from over.

Holmes is really starting to show that he can play. He has that one move in which he pivots into the throw creating separation from the defender and a downfield running gap. Wow. The receivers played well on the Turf.
