Looks like he's going to start.

I hope he's okay and not rushing back. As someone who has experienced 3 concussions........

What was I saying....Ooh look at the birds!

Hopefully our O line can step it up a notch. We need to protect Big Ben.

I think its a foolish decision to play him.

If he's actually okay and medicaly cleared to play,I see no reason why he shouldn't start.

However,if he shows any ill-effects,he should be removed immediatly.

I agree but Dr. Z. from SI.com makes these observations while ranking the Steelers #20 this week:

This is what I saw on the first drive against Atlanta. I saw Grady Jackson literally throw center Jeff Hartings clear and dump Willie Parker for a five-yard loss. I saw Josh Mallard, a reserve, a street free agent, beat Alan Faneca to the spot and sack Ben Roethlisberger. Now those are two All-Pros I saw getting beaten by a 33-year-old fatso and a youngster who'd been out of football for three years. I mean what's going on, anyway? The offensive line is an area of the team that's always been inviolate. Or is it now just in violet?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...rt2/index.html

Maybe (hopefully) this is all a smokescreen by Cowher, if this afternoon's P-G is accurate:

Quarterback Ben Roethliberger pulled on his pads, uniform -- and helmet -- and reported to practice this afternoon. However, he did very little during the two-hour workout.

"I feel good," Roethlisberger said before taking the practice field with his teammates. "Just trying to get ready to get out there and help the team any way I can."

Coach Bill Cowher listed Roethlisberger as questionable after a concussion knocked him out of last Sunday's game in Atlanta in the third quarter. Tests conducted on Roethlisberger's head and neck showed no damage and as long as he continues to pass the mental tests he will be given the rest of the week, he could play Sunday.

My posts are becoming a broken record: It would be INSANE, medically negligent and potentially life-threatening if they allow Ben to play this week. Sure, maybe nothing will happen but is it worth jeopardizing his entire career for a few games? In other words, let's say Ben played this week against Oakland, was sacked, hit his head on the ground. The chances are much greater now not just that he would have a concussion but also that he could sustain permanent brain injury and never play football again. So, let?s hope and pray NFL-affiliated and NON-NFL-affiliated neurologists will think of him as their own son or brother and not a money-making ?Star-QB? machine.

Maybe this is a smokescreen to keep our opponents guessing and not insanity on the part of doctors and coaches especially considering Ben was only doing a "light" workout?

If not?? Then let the Steeler Nation rise and say:
SAVE BEN. PLAY BATCH.

thank you for your perspective about all this. I was wondering if you could explain to us in detail the medical risk of ben playing.
