Default Porter Fined $15K For Threatening Ref Last Week

I had not read this before this evening:

Pro Bowl linebacker Joey Porter was fined $15,000 by the league after he threatened an official following the Steelers' 20-13 loss to the Raiders last Sunday. Porter, angered for an unknown reason, was flagged 15 yards after telling an official that he would come after him

It is a oddly written sentence, but the story apparently says that Porter was fined $15K after the game for his threat on the ref during the 3rd Q of the game last week that drew a 15 yard penalty.

Further evidence that this team has lost any shred of discipline

Joey does what he does.
No one is gonna stop him.
The ref should be gald that the fans didn't get into it. They would have just skipped the warning and got down to buisness, if you know what I mean.

Hey, I'm not surprised. Joey will be Joey, although I'm alittle disappointed.

Joey plays with raw emotion and heart......when adrenaline starts flowing....you are lightning in a bottle....you lose anything that would normally cause you to hold back.

I love the way he plays and think we need more of it this year....minus the penalties of course

I think that those 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalties have played a huge factor in our 2-6 record. You make a 2 yard stop and commit a 15 yard infraction, BOOM! There's a 13 yard gain on your dime. No one on any team is paid to willfully give up 13 yard game changers. Too many of those have swung momentum against us this year. They're actually WORSE than a 13 yard gain because of the way they swing momentum after the play. I mean that's 15% of the field, or 30% of the way to a TD if it occurs at mid field!

I see J Porter cashing out after this season, and although I love having him, I don't think losing him will hurt us. We can go 2-6 without him, and we could also go all the way without him. All the best to him, but I'd take my chances otherwise.
