Fedoruk may want to start watching out for himself. That's pretty hard to do when your main skill in hockey is dropping the gloves. It's not as if this guy is getting paid for his scoring touch. This last fight with Orr could possibly put his career in jeopardy.

While I did not see the game I know what your saying brother. In the beginning of the season the officials were calling everything and it was great to see. You hooked a guy and you got a penalty. You tripped a guy and it was a penalty. No if's, and's or but's. You see a penalty and you call it. It did not matter whether it was the first period or the third period with two minutes remaining in a 2-2 hockey game.

But now your slowly starting to see officials put the whistle away with five minutes remaining in regulation. I prefer the way it was in the beginning of the season. You know, when they were calling the game through three full periods and guys were getting 2 minutes for ummm......penalties. What's going on right now only cheapens the sport in my opinion. Much like the cheap shots and full-blown brawls which have occured this season.

Good to hear. I wish him the best. If I were him I would stay away from the heavyweights for the time being.

I'm not sure if they are more common than they normally are around this time of year. Teams fighting for playoff spots tend to heat up the tension between teams. Also keep in mind that both Philadelphia (Fedoruk's team) and the New York Rangers (Orr's team) are in the same division. They see each very often. Heated rivalries form.

If anything, I believe fights have gone down over the last two years in the NHL.

The reasons these current fights are gaining attention: A) Cheap shots (see Bum Brashear) or B) They are K.O.'s (see Petrovicky, Orr, Boogaard).

Well, Lou has done the same in the past and grabbed a cup. Would I have done it? No. Then again I don't own a hockey franchise and have three Stanley Cup championships under my belt.

As a Penguin fan, hopefully this move backfires.
