Default Jeef Reed and Other Thoughts

Wow what a great monday morning... I know you all are feeling the same so I don't want to ruin it, but what the hell Jeff Reed!! The man has no leg, on kickoffs he makes sure he gives the other team good field position, and on field goals, its like Ricardo going back to return punts. You just do not know what is going to happen.

Other than my Reed Rant, the o-line, even Chuckie, played very well. Ben looked solid behind center. WRs made plays. I know the defense is playing without alot of starters, but it is still no excuse because the D has uncharacteristically given up alot of points this year.

On the University of North Carolina senior day, Willie Parker stood on the sideline teary-eyed as his parents watched, not able to get in the game. His wrists had bands on them that said "I'm gonna make it".

Willie doubters, please stand up.

His kickoffs have always been short. I'm used to witnessing the opposing team receive the kick on our 20-25 and take it to our 40. Our ST's before this season helped cover it up. Not the case this season. With the combination of short KO's from Reed and horrible coverage/tackling on ST's it's being magnified. His FG's are a bit surprising. Normally he's money inside the 40.

I agree with 83-43, Reed has historically been a money kicker. I've noticed all year he has been off. Not just on KOs either. Ive seen some of the FGs he's made go just inside the uprights where last year he was dead-on down the middle. I used to be confident every time he lined up. Now, not so sure.

Yeah, last year he was truely clutch. San Diego was one of the many games where he stepped up big time, but this year is a whole other story....kind of like our team as a whole.

Yeah. I'm pretty frustrated with his kicking game as well. I'd like to see him kick the ball into the endzone a couple of times and give the special teams have a chance.

reed has always been good inside the 40 ... but then again, our field is probably one of the hardest to kick at in the NFL. I dunno, I'll throw him a mulligan for this year. I think we need another young guy that can just blast the hell out of the ball on kick offs. someone earlier mentioned reed only putting the ball at aroudn the 20-25 ... i think thats a little ridiculous, )more like the 10 on most kicks), however, thats still not very good.

That would be me and it was exaggerated to a point on purpose. Although yesterday, he put a ball on the 20-25 yard line during a KO. Anybody else recall seeing that beauty? So it's not completely ridiculous.

He has looked bad since pre-season. If it doesn't get better I would expect to see him gone after this season.
