I just wanted to post this to show his inconsistancy, its almost like a rollercoaster. If you look at his career we were bound for a year out of the playoffs. I'm ready for a new generation of steeler football with some more consistancy.

you mean that 3 year stint between afc champ games where they only averaged 8 wins / year? or the 1 year we missed the playoffs since then.

Over all those years, I cheered and jeered the chin. Its a love/hate relationship. After 2004 I said get rid of him 'cause he couldnt get us to the show. But at 15-1, how can you get rid of him ? Even now, how can we get rid of him ?

yeah i'm gonna have to say thats pretty damn good..starts with 6 winning seasons, then the next 5 of 8 years are winning seasons. You have to rebuild somewhere.

Go look up all the coaches in NFL History. And look at each one who has coached in the league more then say 15 seasons, and tell us how many times they took there team to the playoffs in say there first 15 seasons. Then look at each coach in the league over 20 years and see if they even come close to taking there team to the playoffs 10 times. Go look up for say Gibbs, Parcells, Noll, Levy.

Even Landry only took Dallas to the Playoffs 8 times in his first 15 years. But he probably only took his team to the playoffs 16 years out of 28.

If you want to talk about consistency go find me a coach that was in the playoffs every year of his career over 15 years.

Do not knock Cowher. While we made the playoffs, a bunch of other teams are sitting at home saying wish we could of got to at least 1 game in the playoffs.

I can't imagine the Steelers without Bill Cowher. I know it's comiong one of these days..........but I'll sure miss that face, the spit, the swearing, the chin, the stance and everything he has given this franchise over the years. Thanks for the memories Bill........please stick around for a couple more years!!!
