Default Steelers reach contract agreement with Herron

STEELERS REACH CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH SECOND OF TWO
SEVENTH-ROUND DRAFT PICKS

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed their second of two seventh-round selections from this year?s NFL Draft, announcing they have reached a multi-year agreement with running back Noah Herron.

Herron, a 5-11, 224-pound running back from Northwestern, was the 244th overall selection in the Draft . Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Herron was a second-team All-Big Ten selection last year and was the Chicago Tribune?s Big Ten Back of the Year. He ranked second in the conference and 14th nationally by averaging 115.1 yards per game and compiled the fifth-best single-season rushing total in school history, finishing with 1,381 yards as well as 14 touchdowns.

The Steelers have now signed five of their eight selections in this year?s NFL Draft. The entire team reports to training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa., on Sunday, July 31. The first scheduled practice is set for Tuesday, Aug. 2.
