Re-Projecting the 2006 Draft

Don Banks reprojects the NFL draft based on how draftees have performed up to this point and each team's point of need. Sort of interesting.

The Steelers pick Brad Smith in the first round. 2 real-life Bengal draftees are drafted in the first round.

Agree with McNeill to the Texans - they have been desperate for pass protection for about as long as the franchise has existed.

Leinart to the Jets is all wrong - RB is the need there as Pennington is doing everything he is supposed to since he regained fitness.

Writing off Aaron Rodgers seems ridiculous with nothing to base it on, I remember the same stuff being written about Rivers (that throwing action will never make it in the NFL etc etc)

Bush would have struggled with the Raiders as they dont have a big back, or a deep threat passing game to take the focus from his catches out of the backfield.

The Cardinals suffer from the same terminal problem the Texans do - a terrible O-Line.

Maroney to Denver would have been interesting, although how much of the burden for moving the ball on offense Banks expects the running game to shoulder is questionable.
Jake Plummer is just a poor quality QB who hits the odd hot streak.

Eagles need help stuffing the run, not attacking the QB.

A kicker in the first round?

I consider Addai to be suddenly overrated - the way the media fawns over him after taking apart a woeful Eagles run D is shameless - with the power of the Colts passing game most RB's would succeed.

CONCLUSION: Don Banks =Retarded

Lamont Jordan (their starter at the beginning of the season) isn't exactly a "scat-back", or small by any means. He's comparable to the size of Bettis.

But rather than Bush going there, the more pressing need for a QB could have been addressed had the Raiders drafted Leinart! But alas the Emperor takes a DB.
