Default What's With the Gloom and Doom 'Tudes Around Here?

OK folks - so we haven't torn up the creme de la creme of the NFL over the past 3 weeks, but c'mon - the important thing to remember here is that our Steelers appear to be back to playing at the level we all knew they were quite capable of and are WINNING games again! Whether or not that miracle of them getting into the playoffs will occur or not, this team has started turning itself around and has played some darned good football - consistently - in those 3 wins. We stumbled and fell in the game against the Rats, most definitely, but we did win convincingly over the Saints, another viable playoff contender. While I would love to see the Steelers defy the odds and slide into the playoffs this season, if they don't, it's not the end of the world. God knows this franchise and so many of our players (and our coaching staff) have given us plenty to cheer about over the past decade +. We're darned privileged to be able to call ourselves fans of such a classy and successful organization.

My point here is this. I've noticed some posts around here in the past several weeks which would make the grim reaper proud. Please don't be killjoys - let us enjoy this streak our Steelers are currently on and accentuate the positives in these victories instead of nitpicking at the negatives. Our guys need us right now to be behind them 100%, no matter how this season turns out.

great post hometown. We have won five out of our past six games now. I think we have the momentum to win out against the ratbirds as well as the bungals. The ravens game was a fluke I think. I believe we will destroy both the ravens and bengals!

No kidding - the end of the season will still be great football...I think we have a really good chance of winning out -- even if we don't make it to the playoffs - we can still watch Manning go through his annual playoff choke job - a few more Benglas go to jail, TO drop some more key passes ... you know stuff we all take great pleasure in seeing -- if we don't make it - it will be tough for me not to route for the Chargers ...

I agree. I feel sorry for them because they have missed some good football in the second half of the season. My club here in Indy the attendance is 1/3 of what it has been but all of us still comming are having a blast and now we know the core of the Steeler Nation in Indy.

I agree...no use in yelling "WE'RE NOT MAKING INTO THE PLAYOFFS!" every time someone expresses some hope.

Hey I was running around my house acting like a 4 year old when the Steelers were kicking the snot out of the Panthers yesterday. I was so pumped up with the way the Steelers played I lost my mind. Then there was my brother like a big lump on the couch and acting like the Steelers were down by 3 TD's.

My point some fans are always positive like you are Hometown. Then there is fans like me who takes football way to serious and my mood is effected if the Steelers win or lose. Then there is fans like my brother who are always negative and think the worse.

Heck, even if we don't make the playoffs, we can at least do our part to spoil a bungals playoff run (GO INDY AND DENVER!...sure feels weird typing that). It would be great for us finish above .500 considering our less than respectable 2-6 start.

We're 84 - 13 in the last three games, thats pretty good in my opinion.

I guess I'm just the type of person who focuses on the positives in every situation, whether life in general or in sports. Negativity tends to drag people down and kill that "emotional momentum", and besides - you can't change the negatives so why harp on them? I had an ex-hubby like your brother, Dan. If I could have listed "boo bird fair-weathered fan" at the head of the divorce petition, I sure as heck would have - LOL!
