thanks to jerome for taking this young man under his wing, showing him the ropes, and mentoring an adequate successor. had he failed we would be looking at spending a 1st round pick on a rb next season and ignoring other obvious areas of need.

the way willie presents himself, i gotta say he appreciates this more than the pro bowl cause it was HIS teammates and bretheren who gave him this honor.

I believe he is 73 yds. shy of the team single season rushing record also. And that's on a team that's had the likes of Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis.
I think Barry Foster owns the season record for the STEELERS at over 1,600 yards ???? isn't it like 1610 or 1650 ?????? I'll check the net...

But YES......I'm proud of Willie....he's come along way too....great snag by Dan Rooney Jr. I'm guilty too of loving a big back for the STEELERS , but I think if our OF gets some more talent, it doesn't matter who is carrying the ball....you still have to make holes,,, and in the games Willie rushed for 29 yards ; we were either down by 17 pts, or the OF was not clicking.... even Jerome could not have rushed sometimes w/ this OF line...

Willie will make it work....Ben will make it work.... and we will be back in the Dance in 07 !

Willie is very deserving, I just wish he would of had more competition, maybe we would have been a better team. Willie was just one of a limited number of highlights
