Jesus Christ - the USA really does know how to make its residents a quivering mass of paranoid jelly.

Not referring to any of you guys, of course - but im more than a little sick of this whole 'amber alert' thing that the American Govt is obsessed with.

Family Guy had a nice take on that.

Eh, as an expecting parent I think this is a great website. This doesn't mean I won't let my boy go out and play by himself, it just means if he turns up missing (God forbid) I have a place to start kicking in doors.

Although some parents take this a tad too seriously (and yes I knwo this is serious) but their kids miss out on childhood when they have parents over their shoulder 24/7. This is why I want to move back to Beaver County, and live out in the country, so my son (and other future kids) can grow up like Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes.

I live in cleveland and there are preditors covering the area. When I have kids i'm strongly going to consider moving somewhere much more rural.

I go tmy wife the one that is all leather bound since between the both of us we managed to get every other collectio nhe put out when we were in middle school.

It's weird now though, Calvin makes a lot more snese now that I'm older.

We also named our two cats Calvin and Hobbes, our dog is Stella though....lol...I like Stella Artois Beer.

What is REALLY scary to me is that I recognizes two of the names on the list of the pervs within a 5 mile radius. While I agree with Stillers#1 that I am not going to become a victim of paranoia over this information, as I want my grandson to experience a normal childhood without Grammie shadowing him, I printed out the list and am keeping it handy just in case.

I was just talking about this today with someone very near and dear to me.

I worked for an attorney years ago who took on a client who was accused of and admitted to molesting a 2 year old precious little boy. As my son was only 2 years old at the time, it hit way too close to home and I told the attorney I adamantly refused to do any work on that case and I didn't care if he fired me or not. Luckily, he understood my position and assigned it to another paralegal. When the client came into the office, I shut my door so I didn't see him - I wanted to shove my stapler up his hiney and as prison orange is definitely not my color, that is how I could even manage to stomach being in the same space as the creep.
