I can understand this skepticism. However, it's one thing when an asshat like T.O. or C.J. says it and another when someone like Dungy says it. In Dungy's case, it's actually genuine.

And ive seen Kurt Warner talk about the Lord working in his life even when things dont go well. People see what they want to see. Dungy, Herm Edwards, Kurt Warner, these guys are the real deal, win or lose.
But some people, if they dont share the same beliefs, will always find a reason to criticize the believers no matter what they do.

It's a none issue to me. It's their beliefs and they have they right to say. If someone doesn't like it, tuff. Turn off the TV and quit watching. I'm not going to keep my beliefs to myself because someone who thinks differently thinks they can keep me from saying it. God Bless the USA......and if you don't like it......leave.

Hold it. I never said anything about their beliefs...I merely pointed out that it was ironic that athletes thanked god for winning football games and wondered what they thought when they lost. That's all.

Same thing with rappers at the Grammy's. Some dude with an album about beeotches and ho's thanks God at the podium for making it all possible. It's quite funny to me.

I think that goes back to what I said earlier...True faith and understanding of faith would lead one to understand that God gives talent and opportunity....But work ethic and free will are still up to the individual. With that correct percpective...one can thank God.. win or lose...and still get a sense of self-worth from their effort. All God asks for in return is love and praise. If they are wondering why they didnt win...I think they need to re-evaluate their faith and the role/relationship that God and themselves are to fit into it.

I look at it this way...My Parents can give me $1,000 to do with what I want...I can invest it and be proud of myself for the investment return...and Thank them for the opportunity,...If if waste the money (talent/opportunity)..I should still be thankful for the gift...and blame myself for not making the most of it.
