Something else that needs to be considered is that before Tomlin was a DC, and now our Head Coach, he was an ace Defensive Backfield coach. I have a feeling his expertise will help our young guys a lot.

he would have about as much impact with the steelers as d. branch did with the seahawks. he wants champ bailey money, ignoring the fact that he has yet to play like bailey has on a consistant basis. the pats were patient for him to come into his own. the steelers need to do the same with taylor and mcfadden.
I think Ike will be back to his 2005 form and McFadden will be one of the better CB's in the league this season.

the only problem with samuel is that, it seems, if you have big games in the playoffs the amount of money it takes to get that player increases dramatically (washington overpaid for randle el and neil o'donnel made dexter jackson a ton of cash...no doubt there are many others).

Colclough! Colclough! Why would you ever talk about Colclough!

I wouldn't say "can't". They won't afford. Each believes in their abilities to either plug the holes or bring in the new young buck.

'Won't afford' doesn't really make any sense though does it?

If both teams continue to make a preference of getting as much quality depth in the 53, and develop talent instead of buying it they can't afford to spend that much money on a player like Samuel

Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless.
The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

Colclough should never be used on ST..and used as backup CB and play in the nickel and dime packages....but I reiterate...NEVER play on special teams!!!

Some players you can say this about. But his ability to make plays on the ball shows to me he isn't just a system guy. Isn't like he is a Larry Brown. I like his speed as well as his instincts. And because of gutting their (retirement, free agency) roster I don't think the Pats front 7 was the same this year as in championship past.

I love what their coach did for them as I think he and Brady pushed them as far as their talent would take them this year.
