Default How Will the Superbowl Play Out? Good or Bad?

this is really a tough game to call and really could play out in any way imaginable. im not buying into the bears being underdogs (they relish this role), although i can see why the colts are the favorites.

I'm one to bet the farm on superbowls. This year I have no intention on putting down the 2500 bones I put down on the steelers last year. I think it's going to be the best non steelers superbowl since the titans rams superbowl.

I'm thinking that the Colts KNOW they cant run against the Bears...and they hit the Bears between the eyes early with quick strikes to Harrison,Wayne, and a much used Dallas Clark....I cant see Tillman and Vasher being able to cover the Colts Elite recievers.

That being said..If I am the Bears....I come into this game knowing that my defense is GOING to stop the run..and I practice all week with a modified nickel...If the bears can shake up Peyton early with an interception...The Bears may be able to pound with the ground game against the Colts and keep the ball out of Grossmans hands....but if they have to go to the air because of early Colts TD's...They are done!

This reminds me of those mid to late 80s Super Bowls where I would talk myself into taking the Broncos + the points and then get s**tfaced drunk in the second half as I wondered how I could escape seeing the obvious outcome.

If the Colts burst out early (which I think they will) that leaves the Bears hopes with Grossman, which will mean they will have no hope at all.

Colts by at least 10.

I think it will be the Bears in a squeaker.Of course, I will still watch, but not with the intensity as if the Steelers were playing. Only the Steelers can get such emotion out of me, heh heh.
I think the Bears will will because of their great D. Peyton will make some good plays, but in the end the D will not let up.

If the Colts jump out to a considerable lead early,....things will get 'ugly' for the Bears. They can't play 'catch up' with a one dimensional Grossman against the speed of Indy's defense. However if the Bears can run the ball and control the clock to keep it close,....they'll make enough plays (be it on defense, or special teams) to win.

I refuse to admit that anyone in a Steeler's Forum could really believe with their whole hearts that the Bears, an NFC team, mind you, could possibly hope to battle successfully against the AFC champion Colts! The Bears are NOT going to win this game. It's simply not going to happen. In fact I'd go as far as to say that this years Colts team would kill last year's Colt's team! They play with much more determination and fire than I've ever seen from them. They finally took out the Patriots after all, didn't they?

Just think about it. Who really has the most dominating defense going into this game? Although at face value Urlacher and company should dominate, ever since the Colts got into the playoffs and got Sanders back, their defense has been devastating against the run lately, completely shutting out great backs like Larry Johnson!

So then if both of the defenses are on par or at least argueably comparable, than that leaves only the offenses of both clubs. Who do you think has the DRASTICALLY SUPERIOR offense? Rex, Bernard and Muhamid or Manning, Harrison, Wayne, Clark and Addai/Rhodes? Seriously...

Face it, Manning has finally arrived. There is no way he's going to defeat all of the best AFC teams, the PATRIOTS and his own demons, only to lose to an NFC team in the SuperBowl! LOL How can this even be a debatable subject?

In all seriousness though, I don't really see a good way of predicting this one, at least football-wise. It's a great offense against a great defense, and on the other side, a mediocre offense against a mediocre defense. It could be a blowout either way; just depends on who shows up.

Having said that, I will never, ever root for the most overhyped quarterback in the history of the NFL, unless he has a chance to a) beat the Patriots, or b) make his equally overhyped brother look bad. I hope the Colts get blown out and Manning gets a DUI.

I agree with you that it could go either way, but I ain't with you on the Peyton-hating. Peyton is one of the best in the league now. He's got a great arm and he reads defenses very well. The Bears' defensive coaches will have to come up with some interesting plays to throw him off.

Once again, the AFC has dominated the best the NFC has to offer. My heart goes out to the loser every year, but hey...without a loser there could never be a winner.
