Personally, I think its always better to get this stuff out in the open rather than everyone pretend they dont have prejudices - its the only way to tackle it.

1st half of the term? you mean co-on like a co-ed dorm or a run-on sentence?

the terms coon and coon-assed is about the same difference as calling someone a "punk bitch" or a "punk-assed bitch".

I just read a bit about his Indian-American comment relating to how they are always working in 7/11's.

Is that not the case?

I know over here in the UK, the vast majority of 7/11 establishments (we call them corner shops) are owned by people of an Asian extraction.

Still, its always dangerous for high profile politicians to make comments that seem racially insensitive or seem to stereotype.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

to go on with this... Why is it people always say the N word? Is it completely wrong to say the word , even when you are discussing the issues the word brings up?

I'm not black and won't pretend to understand what some blacks have been through, but it would seem to me that just the vocalizing of the word, without the intent, would not be so horrible that our TV company bleep it and then go on to let B*tch, *ss and other words threw.

What do you think.

PS this is not meant to be an imflamitory can of worms, but a open discussion.
Thats a good question.

Personally, I dont find much need to use the term in general discussion but if it did arise I can't imagine using the term 'n-word' to describe what someone else had said - I would repeat it literally.
